Star Trek Picard season 2

Still watching Episode 9. Still no Robert "Jean-Luc's older brother" Picard. I dunno what the fuck. And I'm caring less and less. Strong start, but this trailed off with a sound like a weak fart. fffffffffrrrpt*squeek?*

Where in the episode was the line about Starfleet rejecting Seven? Either I totally blanked out during it or they edited it out of the UK version for some reason?

Nothing about hologram Elnor made any sense. None of the other La Sirena holograms have had mobile emitters (and it's 29th century technology!) and yeah it's really fucking weird the ship apparently does brain scans so extensive that the holograms can remember the moment of their death?

Also like isn't this supposed to be a seperate timeline that's going to be erased when Jean-Luc saves Renee or whatever next week? So the Borg/Jurati wouldn't be in our prime timeline as this is the timeline where 'Time's Arrow' didn't happen and the Confederation comes to being and Seven would got her implants back anyway when the timeline is restored? Also lol at her gut wound needing her exact original Borg implants to fix it.

The Jean-Luc mother stuff at least felt more substansive than much of the season as Stewart actually seemed to give a shit during it. But Moon Knight did a better "journey into the main character's mind to explore childhood trauma" episode this week.

Alison Pill is still by far the best actor on the show (also boobs lol) but I don't think I even want her in season 3 if she's just going to be playing hippy Borg Queen now.

It was when Seven and Rafi were on the ship and Rafi said you would have been a good captain, why didnt you join Starfleet? And she said they wouldn't take her, despite them having no problem with Locutus and Icheb.

Thank The Prophets they have no interest in going near DS9.
And why would they? All Discovery's intersectionality checkbox "firsts" really weren't Discovery firsts. They were DS9 firsts. And DS9 did them all so much better, for that matter. I mean FFS, the person of color as series lead? Sisko. Lead character who isn't a Captain but gets there eventually? Sisko. First nonbinary character? Odo. First trans character? Dax. First (implied) gay couple? Bashir and Garak. (C'mon, now, everybody knew those two were gay for each other. Alex Siddig and Andy Robinson, IIRC, have since explicitly confirmed that they were deliberately playing it that way.)

Fair point; why would the Holo-Elnor even need a mobile emitter when none of the other shipboard holos do?

"Okay so I've got an idea for another plotline, this one's about Picard's mother. Can you look on Memory Alpha or something to see what's already been said about her?"

"Sure okay! Well good news - it looks like there's not really much known about her, she was only really talked about in one episode."

"Okay, great."

"Yeah, all there is that you have to stick to is that she was a kindly old French woman who drank tea. Easy."

"Ah, well..."
