Starcraft

Messenger and I played a few rounds.

First round was a Use Map Settings I slapped together-- no resources, instant build. It's very difficult in that there are four computer AIs and they have the same advantage you do. I ended up spamming carriers and scouts to a stalemate against the AI. Messenger, playing Terran, discovered I forgot to set the building add-on costs to zero, which prohibited ghosts, nukes, battlecruisers and sieged tanks, which tipped the balance in his Protoss opponent.
Replay is here: http://bickenland.lonaf.com/Files/Starcraft/Clusterfuck--MessyBick.rep

Second round was on the same level (Bridge to Bridge), but as a stock TvP. I played as Protoss with the intention of doing a triple build (Zerg, Terran) after stealing from my allies' workers. But our AI allies got stomped by the other team, so we called it a game.

Third round was on Arctic Assault, 3v3 TvB. I mismanaged a SCV against a computer rush, failing to have it repair a bunker in time, and lost my main-- floated my critical buildings to an isolated plateau and sent my SCV's to Messy's base. The game then timed out.

A shame we don't have a replay from #2, which saw 2 of my bunkers filled with marines destroyed along with a bunch of miners. I juggled the 6-7 remaining zealots, produced 2 firebats, attacked with SCVs, repaired bunkers, etc etc. Good exercise. Rush repelled.

If anyone wants to see how to defend yourself against a horde of Hydras and a few Lurkers with Terrans early in the game, go for #3.

Bick just kicked my ass, badly :(

I resorted to floating my command center around the map as a last ditch effort to hang on, but they were too slow :(

Bick has it, but I think his internet's being shoddy and not allowing him access to TK.

But seriously, I'm embarrassed by it. I actually didn't do a thing during the whole match because I stupidly tried to rush him before I had the forces. I just defended my base a bit and then got raped.

It was a saaaad match :(

The replay got corrupted, dammit.

Sam and I played a Team Free For All on (4) Blood Bath-- I played Terran-Zerg and she played Zerg-Terran; the two AIs were Protoss.
After I got my bunkers built and stocked with marines and firebats, one of the Protoss attacked with a single dark templar. I had to build a turret really quickly to fend it off, lost a bunker and a couple marines to do so. I got siege tanks out and positioned near the choke, and badly pwned the next zealot rush. I started working on my zerg force, aiming for hydras, and started getting hit by one of Sam's tanks, as one of my bunkers was within its line of site. I think she was being harassed by the AI during this time; I got attacked a couple times, without much threat. I positioned a tank to disrupt an AI mineral line and pwned their probes. Meanwhile, I got annoyed by Sam's tank and built a nuke. I positioned an overlord to spot the tank, cloaked the ghost, and fired my nuke. She realized what was going on, moved the tank (not far enough), and her SCVs/drones, Engineering Bay and tank all got pwned for some good lulz. I then positioned my own tank there to discourage any other attacks from her (and starved her of minerals in the process). Meanwhile, I started my campaign of pwning protoss. The level's small, so I was limited to two barracks, one factory, one starbase (which was floated and never used-- only built to get science facilities), and one nuke silo. I repeatedly nuked both comps, who had destroyed their own forces attacking each other, and followed up with small forces of marines, firebats, hydras and medics. I backed my tank off to let Sam have the mineral drop I'd tanked while I bitch slapped the AI. She'd periodically drop parasites on my units, which I'd toss at her to sacrifice.
When the AI's bit it, I advanced my tanks, comsatted her choke, and sieged her forces, and stormed her base.

I just got royally raped playing in a game with Bick.

I was doing fine in the beginning, but it was an island map, and I apparently didn't have enough turrets up, so the computer was able to drop in some troops and kill the 14 or so troops I had built up. I was playing as Terran, so I picked up my command center and barracks to move them to a different base because there was no hope of getting that one back, but any time I set them down, I got brutally attacked.

Well that was better, minus the fact that Bick got dropped from the game.

I could have kept going, since it was down to one on one, but meh. What fun is it if you can't gloat to someone when you're awesome? ;)

I hate Melee games with AI players. Against a solo AI, sure. More than one, what a clusterfuck.

I need to play more island maps as a rule-- I'm pulling land maps decently at this point, but my early air support/expansion sucks.

I'll post the two replays in a bit.
