I don't know. No one EVER gave me a quoted price. I expressed interest to Borgs, and then BAM, Elwood was owner.

Never got a reply.
 
I wonder what the excuse will be to ban MarkB. Flashlight gives them plenty of reasons, so he isn't a problem.

Once those two are gone, WF will be one big happy lovefest.

They might have to ban RJHJ, too. But really, if they wanted to go the full on Lisa route, they'd just ban all three for "excessive trolling."
 
So, Elwood purchases a site which was primarily the creation of refugees, and now holds eternal claim to it to direct as he or his descendants see fit? If anything, they should be worried about the refugees shutting it down.

What self-importance. Un-flipping-believable.

Do I even need to mention how patently ridiculous that is? From two standpoints:

One, if it's such a closed shop, why not simply hand it over then?

Two, he'd give it to anyone who offered enough, so that canard doesn't wash.

I'll start the bidding low, $2,000. Anyone think he'd be willing to sell it for two?

I'll enjoy seeing how high I have to take this. Everyone has their price, after all.

If this is the case perhaps it would be for the best if Elwood just pulled the plug so someone like Cass can open up a new forum and give everyone else the chance to start over. The crazy Austrian might be a bit nuts but at least she saw the place as everyone's refuge and not her little dictatorship.

Cause I can afford it. To give you an example: Today I just cashed a check from the government for $403,000, for work my company's done at the new VA cemetery in Palm Beach. And that's only the first payment. I'm reasonably sure that I can outbid anyone else who'd want wordforge, which is why the fact that I was frozen out of the bidding the first time around amuses me.

I have a feeling that, even for that high an amount, Elwood wouldn't sell to me though. partly because he wouldn't actually believe I can pay that much.

So be it.
 
Dudes, if you don't like how it's run, start your own or vote with your feet. Why the insistence on them selling to you?

I think it's because Wordforge doesn't simply belong to Elwood, but to all of the posters.
