You Fox Eared Asshole!
The Daily Show was never intended to be taken as a serious news show. They've always touted themselves as 'Fake News'. The basis for their stories are true, however their take on them is anything but the truth.
When Jon Stewart first took over, it was pretty good. They focused more on the comedy, and less on the political fiasco. Now since they've won a couple emmys, they've focused more on the political aspects, and less on the comedy.
That's why I skip The Daily Show, and go to The Colbert Report. That show is totally focused on the comedy, with a political background. The way it should be if you're going to stick it on Comedy Central.
The only reason that The Daily Show is still on the air, is because they have a dedicated fanbase that has been watching it since the Kilborn days, and it still wins the show emmys. Colin Quinn has had two shows focused on Politics after the Daily Show, and they've disappeared faster than his stint on Saturday Night Live. Steven Colbert has his Daily Show stint to back him up, as well as his focus on comedy rather than politics.
So IMO, skip The Daily Show, and wait for The Colbert Report. Although it comes on the same time as Family Guy on Cartoon Network, so I wait for the 1:30 replay.
The one thing that really pisses me off, is that they show these shows over and over and over again. Can't they find anything else to fill their lineups?
