The effects don't tend to be that good, but I liked all the stuff with Rani and Clyde this week. Luke's face was annoyingly sincere throughout.

Rani's dress was a nice dress. I hope they're not trying to get something going between Rani and Luke. If only because it would be like watching Rani cuddle up to some wood with eyebrows.
Also, even though it was really obviously they were going to do it, it was annoying to have all this build up to The Doctor returning and then have him be just the cliffhanger with some motion blur effects over him.
I liked the Metebelis III reference.

Yeah, Clyde should be the one to take Rani's virginity, realistically.
It's kind of annoying how they had a preview last week of "he is returning", THEN the "next episode!" preview at the end showed him and the announcer said "THE DOCTOR'S IN THIS EPISODE, KIDS!" but he just appeared to gurn at the end. BUT AT LEAST THE NEXT ONE IS ON TOMORROW.

Well that was alright.
I mean, it's a shame that all Gareth Roberts seems to be able to write is hyperactive I AM SHOUTING BECAUSE IT'S DRAMATIC I'm so sorry Tenth Doctor, but still the fact we havn't seen him for MONTHS almost coveres that fact.
But it was good that the story was resolved by something other than The Doctor and/or K9 using a magic wand, and instead having it be quite a nice character moment.
It was cool that the Trickster thought it was cool that The Doctor once had the Key to Time.

There was an awful lot of the Doctor barging through doors dramatically before explaining slightly more of the plot.
I hate Luke more with every passing concerned frown.
I knew Clyde was short, but he looked like a dwarf next to David Tennant. Glad he had something to do, though.

Fortunately, the writers seem pretty intent on marginalizing him.
"Go on, I'll wait here in case the TARDIS comes back!"
"Now I'll wait in this room! You two go on!"
They should just hire another Luke and say he "regenerated," or dump him on Pete's World and replace him with Mickey.

I guess, but it's still getting a bit cliche. I was so sad when Pete Tyler killed himself to save the world, and I was a little sad when the Smith parents killed themselves to save the world.... this time I just wanted them to get it over with.

I did notice Luke's become the "wait here with the robot dog" kid now. But he's too wooden to complain about it in a witty way.

He also says "Master Clyde" and "Mistress Rani." The Doctor and Sarah Jane are the only ones he doesn't refer to by name.

Really liked today's ep. Actually quite spooky moments, no Luke, more Clyni shippery and some fun lines. "I ain't afraid of no ghost." Oh and good old Floella Benjamin.

Yes good to see the juggernaut of children's tv, Floella Benjamin.
I would guess that the actor who plays Luke is doing exams (he's younger than Clyde and Rani's actors) and that's why he hasn't done much this season. Or else they just realised he's a shit actor.
There's a new memeber of the team now anyway: Rani's breasts.
