The Walking Dead season 3

Nope.

Pretty good ep. Looking back, not a hell of a lot happened, but that was fine really. We kinda needed an episode just to get back into things.

"She has Lori's eyes" - what everyone fears hearing about their baby.

So we can now add impromptu awesome speechmaking to Andrea's set of unlikely skills.

Curious to see just how they'll bring Daryl and Merle back in, as they inevitably will.

Its better than hearing "She has Lori's eyes but the rest of him looks like Shane."

(Which I thought they might say)

I was considering photoshopping up a baby's face with Lori's eyes and Shane's nose, but I couldn't inflict that image on the world. Or stare at it myself for the half hour it would take to make.

It was pretty good outside of FUCKING ANDREA up until Rick seeing a ghost. I really find the idea of watching Rick see ghosts every week pretty tedious.

I get it on Amazon subscription - $2 an episode - no cable/satellite TV. Yeah.

Very good episode. I like how Rick points out the Governor is crazy. Then, what does Rick do? Flip out. Considering what these guys have gone through it isn't all that surprising. Guys like Rick and the Governor aren't just trying to save their own skin but keep others alive too.

Some interesting shifts in personalities and roles this episode. I like that it isn't just about zombies eating living people. I'm also wondering just how bad Glen is going to f up Governor boy. Glen, while a sweet heart on the surface and down a few layers, has always had something just a tad wicked and twisted in him too. Not the kind of person to make your enemy.

Axel got some lines! He's nearly a real character! Oh, he's dead. And you just know that of the four new characters (who just disappeared this week) only Tyrese will survive. IT WAS MORE SHOCKING WHEN PEOPLE DIED IN THE BOOK.

I see Hershel's down to guest star now so he'll be dying soon...

Crazy Rick: Still not interesting.

Michonne: Why can't she speak?

Andrea: Argh.

THE ATTACK ON THE PRISON WAS MUCH MORE EPIC IN THE COMIC LORI GOT BLOWN UP.

When Axel started talking for the second time in the episode I said out loud to myself "is he about to die?" and I'd barely finished my sentence when his brains flew out the back of his head. Annoying. He actually started to seem quite interesting, and though a love rival for Daryl isn't the kind of soap opera thing I really want to see, it'd be a lot more down to Earth and believable than Rick seeing Head Lori everywhere.

Anyway, the bridge rescue and especially the attack on the prison were really good. Loved the shot of Michonne running along with her sword with the sun low in the sky. Not sure why The Governor didn't just finish them off, though. I mean he made his point, but why risk causing future trouble for himself?

The attack scene was good but even then there was the typical Walking Dead stupidness, like Carole using Axel's body for a shield even as he got shot up by like fifty bullets.

I had to detach the tv show from what I know of the book a while ago, and it got a lot more fun to watch. Sorta like reading one of those "what if" alternate universe stories where stuff is sorta the same but not really, and it's okay because it's not the really real guys but the tv universe guys.

Well I don't really care if it follows the comic exactly (or at all), it's just when something annoying happens in the show I can't help remembering "that was better in the comic" (if there was a similar event in the comic.)

Didn't anyone else see it? :)

So... decent episode. Setuppy, really. I thought there'd be more made of Andrea's return. I suppose at the point they all are it takes more to shock them, but I thought she'd react more strongly to the checklist of deaths. Aside from Michonne she was closer to them than anyone else since her sister died. Did she know about Dale? I thought he died during the burning down of the house. Hard to keep these things straight...

Other than that it was mostly confirming stuff we knew. The Governor is nuts. His henchman is a henchman.

Good direction, though. There were some really nicely composed shots which made me wonder if they were based on panels from the comics, or just designed to look as if they could be.

Dale died after tripping over a zombie cow. Andrea was still there.

I liked how Carole kept bringing up T-Dog even though Andrea seemingly forgot he existed.

Andrea: Where's Shane? And Lori?
Carole: And T-Dog?
Andrea: Umm, sure.
Carole: Dead!

Andrea: So how did Shane die?
Carole: Oh that's a boring story, BUT T-DOG DIED LIKE THIS...
