Thread for Tomtrek to post star trek trailer in

That was seriously awesome.

I'm still not overwhelmed by the Starfleet designs (which I don't think even match eachother, nevermind the established Trek universe), but it's wonderful to see so much money spent on it.

The hoverbike is very snazzy and concept designish.

Ooh, there's a little UFP logo underneath the scaffolding.

Vulcan architecture looks suitably alien.

Did they take the Velasquez rocks and copy/paste ten times for the shot of Sarek and Winona?

I wonder why the rocks are collapsing when Spock's in the time.. thing. Would be cool if older Spock shows him the destruction of Vulcan, but it's probably just a timey winey side effect.

I really hate those shuttles.

Kirk/Spock do kinda look like misshapen cosplayers, but Pine's very Kirkish in his acting.

The starbase looks a bit like that big Xindi ship, but with saucers stuck on. Not bad, though. I hope ships can go inside.

Can't tell much about the Romulan ship yet.. except it has some lights.

The shot of the rear end of the Kelvin's nacelle needs an explicit content warning. Dirty bastards. Looks like there's a bit of a Sisko/Saratoga shot there flying away in a shuttle.

Guy in jet packs heading for Vulcan? Weird. I think the one in red is Natalie Portman. Also, is that a really jagged orbital tether?

Corridors are a bit Ugly Betty.

Shirtless Kirk, a necessity really.

Shirtless Uhura. She still has a big forehead.

Please don't just make Scotty funny all the way through.

Swordfight could be worse.

Oh so it was a big weapony thing.

They look like Klingon bondage masks.

Maybe its Kirk who will have the nickname Bones this time round

You'd think they'd be using Metric only in the 23rd Century. Note the speedometer in the car at the beginning of the trailer, going from 60-70. That's not that fast if in Metric.

Did you notice by any chance that it's a REALLY old car?

Not on this screen, no.

The fact that it's a CAR in the 23rd century but it's not flying should have been a clue.

Do you mean this?

It could be a new transporter effect.

Tell that to Canadian and European cars. But given that it's probably supposed to be an American car...
Some collector's gonna be royally pissed that Kirk just destroyed a real vintage car after it'd been preserved for 200+ years!

He's being whisked away by thousands of tiny Tinkerbells.

He can fly! He can fly! He can fly! ...

You know, I should be creaming myself since Karl Urban & Eric Bana are in this (and Chris Pine is nothing to shove out of bed) but I'm just meh right now over the movie.

Sacrilege, I know.

Well, you're not exactly catching Karl Urban or Eric Bana at their best. One's made up to look like a slightly disheveled country doctor and the other's a green alien with facial tats.

True, but I thought I'd be more excited. :(

If that is the transporter than it really does look like bees.

Bee me up Scotty, lol omg?

Hot buzz?

It's magic

MontHONEYry Scott.

"She cannae take bee more"?
