True Blood 1.9 "Plaisir D'Amour"

Tisiphone

Elitist Redheaded Trollop
Nice episode. We're getting into vampire politics now.

I'm too lazy to find the book, but I thought this would have been where Sookie is attacked so badly that she needs blood from Bill, Pam, and of course, Eric. Maybe that's later on in the book. Hmmmm....

Poor Sookie, first Gran, now her cat.

Jason "bonding" with their vampire captor was intriguing. I can't remember the guys name, but he's only been a vamp for a year, so maybe that's why he's not so sinister. He's still got a bit of human emotion in him, or at least remembers how it feels to be human.

Bill asking Sam for help was priceless, especially Bill knowing Sookie wouldn't like it, and her telling him the exact same thing when he told her.

You can already see Eric trying to make Sookie his. Trust me, this is not something they've done for the show to make it even more of a love triangle. Eric will play a more important role in Sookie's life than Bill.

Now somebody watch the damned thing so we can discuss! <g>

BTW...ONLY THREE MORE EPISODES LEFT ZOMGS RAPEKAT ELVES GNOMES

^rats. the season'e going by too quickly!!!

please tell me Jason has let the vamp go?! Please tell me that the vamp knows Lafayette had nothing to do with the abduction! shit! that stupid bitch ( pick either Jason or Amy) is gonna get Lafayette killed!
lol - so the vamp politics begins, does it? In Dead before Dark some of Longshadow's blood falls into Sookie's mouth by accident (IIRC she's screaming her head off when he's biting on her and is killed. But I cant remember who kills him - wasnt it Eric in the book?)
I liked the actor who played Longshadow - he had that whole "that's what we are: Death" -thing going on perfectly.

I'm looking forward to this ep!

Any boobs?

^Yep. You get to see Amy's boobs again.

Duh!!! Chow is introduced, and he's not as sinister looking as he is in the books.

Bill is the one who kills Longshadow, thus bringing about the vampire tribunal in next week's episode. Eric's original plan was for Bill to give Sookie to him (YES!), but Bill won't have it, and Eric realizes that Bill is in love with her.

Jason hasn't let the vampire go, but he's talking to him and even brought him some blood to drink.

The cliffhanger of the episode is one for the...dogs. ;)

I still don't know why Sookie hasn't delved into Amy's mind.

I'd rather delve into her boobs.

!

Mmm hmm!

Good episode. I didn't know the season was almost over, that sucks! I'll really have to get the books now.

The effects during the sex scene this week looked really cheesey.

I think everyone worked out Sam being the dog weeks ago, so the end wasn't really a shock (and didn't Sookie think it was strange the dog wouldn't look at her getting changed?)

^I think they were meant to be cheesy, to show how bugged out people get on V.

Sookie doesn't really look at things as you or I would. Like she said in an earlier episode, who is she to be afraid of the bizarre. So, a dog turning its head while she is changing probably doesn't even register that something might be up with it.

On a different note, could Ginger have been more fuglier?

She had the crack ho look going on.

I'll say.

there are moments when i really dig this show, and moments (like the aformentioned loony sex scene) where it's just ridiculous. first season of any show takes some bugs to work out, so i must be jaded.

What shows scarred you?

scarred as far as expecting incredible things in the first season? hmm... i guess Lost would be one, Dexter, Weeds, The Office (BBC and US), and Mr. Show to name a few.

interestingly enough, the shows that take a couple of seasons to get good usually stay really good - the shows that start off super good usually go downhill after a while. Heroes is an excellent example, for whatever reason Heroes is no longer really impressive.

See, I thought Lost was great, but now I don't care about it. Same with Heroes.

I got into Dexter immediately, but this season I'm playing catchup since it comes on the same time True Blood does.

Lost and Dexter were both great from the start (though Lost has had some bumpy moments and is NEVER FUCKING ON TV FOR MORE THEN EIGHT SECONDS A YEAR.)

Why didn't the killer just hide a BOMB in Sookie's cat?

^He's into the more personal approach.
