That house caught on fire mighty fast. I hate it when they need something to happen so they make the character do something REALLY stupid and then your whole suspension of disbelief is ruined.
It was kind of dull again. Jeff Fahey was the most interesting actor and he's dead. I like the bare feet of the girl trapped in the cellar. But what else is there, really?
"The military says they don't know who created the dome." "What does that mean?" "That the military didn't do it." "Who did?" How should she know, asshole? It would have made more sense if the person had said "Then who COULD have created it?"
That fire. Holeeee shit. Instead of just taking the evidence, idiot sets it on fire, puts it in a plastic trashcan and then fucking pushes it next to the curtains. Oopsie, didn't mean for that to happen!
Also... you know you're inside a nearly impervious dome. Air, anyone? Don't drive.
And I hate that creepy stalker kid. I know I'm supposed to hate him but I just want to see him dead.
I've been reading comments on reviews of this show and there are some hilariously pissed off people... People who love the show and are mad because it's getting bad reviews.
Creepy BUT CUTE stalker boy was a necrophiliac in the book! (I haven't read the book)
I want the stalker "kid"/30 year old killed off too. It just seems like overkill to include that storyline in the show. The fact that a town is trapped inside an invisible dome of unknown origin should be interesting enough by itself, without requiring the addition of a kidnapping/necrophilia storyline.
It annoyed me that the boy who found out the dome was permeable didn't mention it to anyone. That really would've set a few minds at rest and stopped that cop going mental and killing off a red shirt.
Characters weren't all that likeable and the story flounders some. I left off after the first week because it was basically a rehash of the premise behind The Mist: "normal" people with often twisted cores find themselves cut off from the world. Some become zealots, some grasp for power and the one or two sane voices have a trying day. The Mist did it better because monsters. I have been a big fan of Kings and have loved his ability to write characters, but he's been on a nostalgia tour for two decades revisiting his old plotlines. He might as well have a misunderstood pubescent with superpowers in there.
Under the Dome is TERRIBLE. I was hoping the last bad episode was a fluke. I'll probably keep watching it because it's summertime and there's not really anything else on... BUT if there ever is, I will drop Under the Dome like a HOT POTATO.
