Right. Also you have to include the fact that people back then thought royalty were ordained by God and such a conception was 'heaven sent'. The ignorance which lead behavior was amazing.
 
Well I don't see how Ragnar is going to come out of this one alive. I was as surprised as that meek king when he popped out of the coffin - and Floki made an awesome coffin at that! But Bjorn living through two arrows in the back anything ca happen.

Rollo was cute when he spoke French and was all kinds of proud and got himself quite smitten when she had her tantrum, even though he had no clue he was being insulted.

That homely princess has more brains that her father who is a weak and ignorant king. She ran the kingdom and if she wasn't such a brat about being bartered off to Rollo she would realize right away that she's going to rule all of France and her father will become even less than the 'nothing' he already is.

She will realize soon enough OR it goes the other way and Rollo takes her back to Norway and she likes the "heathen" lifestyle as Althelstan did.
 
She wasn't being a brat, she's being traded to the enemy because her father is a coward and she's nothing more than a piece of property. Justified anger.

Yeah, I understand the justified anger, but she missed the point that she's going to be more powerful than her father. She's going to have to guide Rollo much the same way as she does with her idiot father and that's where she should have realized that she should have kept her mouth in check. JMO

Just started watching Mad Men this weekend and it's weird how the demeaning of women back then has me more "angry" at it than the worse way women were demeaned centuries ago.
 
She doesn't know that she'll be more powerful than her father. It won't be her power anyway, it will be Rollo's. She also has no way of knowing that Viking society was more (not completely) equal than her own. We can predict that she's probably going to be better off, but she can't. Any person as smart as she is would be livid about being traded like a slave.
 
Holy crap! Now I can't wait that long to see what happens! I just hope the trailer isn't more action packed than the season. I hate when trailers are more exciting than a movie or show.
 
WHERE MY VIKINGS PEOPLE AT?

Most of the stuff in the trailer already happened! This season is off to a really good start. Rollo and Princess Gisela are my favorite storyline right now, but Princess Kwenthrith is going to be in tonight's episode a lot, and I love her SO MUCH. I am also enjoying Judith being allowed to learn how to illuminate the sacred texts.

I want to know how the situation with Floki is going to work out.

Ragnar is in the movie Warcraft. I'll go see that movie just for that reason alone.
