What is the allure of marijuana?

Some day, when your arteries are clogged and your cholesterol is way up - probably today - oatmeal is your friend.
 
So TQ and BG, since you're both so against Mary Jane, does that mean you're against it for medicinal purposes too?

Medicinal=good thing, but not self proscribed just because a person thinks they can do that.
 
Recipe for Ranch dressing.

Mayo-1 quart
buttermilk-1 1/2 cups ( or till its the right consistency)
garlic powder- 2 tbsp
onion powder- 2 tbsp
dill- 1 tsp

adjust to fit your personal taste.

Pizza for garnish.

but he's a comedian - he's highlighting the absurdities of the law through comedy and social observation. It's not supposed to be a comprehensive argument for legalizing Marijuana...
 
Sardy, I have a great respect for you and especially your writing capabilities. I am disheartened that you think Bill Hicks is a hack. If these quotes are your only expierience of the man and his work then I would request that you perhaps re-evaluate becuase to me at least Bill Hicks and his sharp and witty and most importantly insanley funny viewpoint on the world is a joy to behold. He covers the whole spectrum, everywhere from religon, politics, aliens, drugs, music, and the grand scheme of things. He was a great comedian, one of the best ever. Bill Hicks is simply brilliant and unless you have made up your mind to hate him "after" hearing a lot of his material - his delivery is so much better than reading quotes - Then you should give him a chance. I would be really suprised if you could sit through Revelations without laughing an awful lot at what the man had to say before his untimley death.
 
It's OK to not "get" Hicks. Some folks don't get genius, or see bright lights when flashed directly in their eyes, either. You know it's OK.

I remember being like 27?, and first understanding Hicks' material. It was interesting, there was this second "wave" going on with Lenny Bruce, and Hicks and also Kinision, and a few others likeJudy Tenuta (who became obnoxious), and Goldthwaite, who letterman at first thought was a real crazy street person, started to emerge. Ever see any of the early Goldthwaite standup on Letterman? I have it on VHS it's remarkable.

But Hicks is a master, whatever opinion you may have of him, he was for real, and knew exactly what he was doing.

And Sardy, he was blisteringly funny.

Sorry guys but I didn't read this thread. My 2 cents.

Pot lost its abilty to be alluring, when I started to aquire things in my life that I could not afford to lose, since its illegal. Such as my business, a house, investments, vaction property, IRA's, trucks and the list goes on.

While I did enjoy, the buzz just wasn't worth the risk of losing my future.

High but dry.
