There's, like, a puzzle where (and I'm making up the details) you've got 4 guards and 3 prisoners and 2 boats and you need to get all the prisoners across a river but you can never have less than 2 guards for every prisoner and the boats will only hold 3 people and you need to work out the logistics. That is a little like what going to bed is like.
Lately I pretty consistently forget to charge my phone. But that's OK because I also have to get all the animals inside. The Cat is the big worry. There are things out there that can kill him and he can't make enough noise to let me know he wants to come in, so I've just got to check from time to time and hope he comes in. The Dog knows to bark when she wants to come in. So. The Cat is Out. I want to go to sleep. I forgot to charge the phone. Plug the phone in. Shut off lights. Go to check on The Cat. Dog wants to go Out. So I thow a collar on her--and then grab the collar because, as I suspected, her wanting to go Out and The Cat wanting to come In are related--and if The Dog goes Out, The Cat will decide he wants to stay Out. So I've got The Cat in. I'm ready for bed. But The Dog is still Out. Oh, she's also bigger and doesn't just jump over the fence, so I have more control over her. So yeah. Just another Tuesday night at the asylum. This is why I drink too much.
