Admins have a variety of powers, which also include deleting posts, deleting threads, moving posts and threads, merging threads, merging posts into threads, splitting threads, DCing posters, unDCing posters, viewing IPs, creating fora, creating categories, deleting fora, deleting categories, banning posters, creating accounts, deleting accounts, restricting accounts, creating announcements, stickying threads, deleting announcements, locking threads, editing threads, editing posts, etc. They can indeed do that.
