My inclination would be to skip the chat just because that just isn't my cup of tea, but if someone wanted to run it. Both the Iron Room and the Gold Room were good ideas, so I'd probably have them--oh, and I'd resurrect a version of the Embassy.
I would likely rename the fora though. I always thought it silly that the blog room was the Blue Room and the vice room was the White Room. I'm not entirely certain what the naming conventions would be. Initially I was thinking government-y names for things, but that's a bit pretentious. I was also thinking of Viking-y names but that is also a bit hokey. I've also toyed with kind of borrowing the format from newspapers--a sports section, a variety section, etc. I dunno.
A moot point for now, though. Today I got to work before 7 and left almost 12 hours later, with maybe a half-hour off for lunch. The rest of the day was non-stop working like a dog--and I'm barely ahead of where I was at the start of the day--maybe a bit behind in some regards. It's busy. But rewarding.
Oh, and on Saturday I fly over to the Big Island to have a look at a motorcycle. If it's in as good a shape as it sounds, soon I'll have me a fine 500cc cafe racer.
(although I had to give up my Oregon driver's license this week and get a Hawaiian one because I didn't have a cycle permit for Oregon. 
)

Don't forget to have mods that can identify with the common folk and don't have the attitude that they are better than.

Man. We need a Blue Room here. I have much to share regarding my adventure on the Big Island. But long story short, I am now the proud owner of a 1990 Honda GB500. Volpone, when you do get your bbs up and running, I have a suggestion for you.
Go to wordforge and start a thread about your new bbs. Then announce it will be by invite only and you will pm those who you want to invite.
Then see what happens. I'm sure there will be some privacy invasion going on to see who gets invited.

Either the tide was up or there has been major beach erosion (it's been over 9 years,) because there was a lot more beach when I was there. And you can kind of see the turtles here and there, but in the distance it just looks like rocks. I don't have a scanner but perhaps I can take care of it anyways and post some pictures Monday? No promises.
