Wow. Building a BBS is a Great Way to Feel Stupid...

Shit. I should be posting this in my Tea Room thread. :( I didn't make it to the beaches with the green sand because I wanted to drive all the way around the island, which is a lot bigger'n Oahu. I also wanted to drive the Saddle Road (which I did), and visit the Captain Cook Monument and the City of Refuge (which I didn't have time for).

Eh. Sorta. You can book commuter flights between the islands for around $40. Flight takes about an hour. Of course then you need a rental car and a place to stay. That gets pretty expensive--even if you're a local (Islanders get cheaper rates than tourists on lots of things). To give you an idea of costs, an omlette at Denny's will run you around 9 bucks (plus tax and tip). In September, the SuperFerry is opening up service between Oahu (the main island), Maui, and one other island (I forget which one). In 2009 it will run to the Big Island as well.

What the hell kinda omelettes are you getting? I live near the Denny's in Waipahu and they don't cost $9. Of course I don't go there anymore because I gave them like 4 chances and they fucked up my order EVERY SINGLE TIME; burnt toast, raw egg, etc...

 You go to the Denny's in Kailua-Kona after midnight and the cheapest thing on the menu is, like, $8.65.

Yeah, I fucking hate Denny's. Either the food is awful, they screw up the order, or both. But when you're exhausted, hungry, and frustrated, and there's one right in front of you, you do what you must.

God. The one around here closed years ago, but back in the day during a 2AM food run, one of our friends got a steak that the underside was fucking rainbow colors. No joke. It was nasty!

Beautiful pics, BTW. Looks like an awesome place to be.

I went to Oahu last summer. Would love to go back, only this time play it smart and cheaper. Fucking Waikiki will run you dry - not that it's not already expensive in HI, but it's so much more in Waikiki.

 I guess so. I think I missed it. It's. The. Same. Every. Day. Temps in the 80s. Fairly humid. Sunny with 10-15mph winds. Maybe some light drizzle sporadically inland.

Not that I'm complaining, but it gets old. Well, I guess I am complaining. Just not very loudly.
