Knowing that board, it HAD to be something truly horrible to get him permabanned. Probably something along the lines of giving another member a stern look or perhaps becoming cross with someone and telling him what for.

My first warning was for what was deemed offensive punctuation. I posted ..!.. and &^ . I kid you not.

The second was a humorous post on my part where I posted an article that talked about if you were offended by a website, you had the right to demand to know the personal details behind the poster so you could sue them directly. I mentioned two posts and said I took offense and asked for the details.

Then I was perma-banned. Even though it takes three suspensions, they stopped and got me after two.

True story. Both of them.
 
They would also whine that various friends of mine gave me their accounts after I was banned and I continued to post.

One of the times I was actually getting along good, but Orpheus, abusing his admin powers at Shattered Corpse deduced through my IP who I was and banned me.
 
i pm'ed orpheus i thought he was the nice guy admin...

despite that, i think we have a strong case here.

anyone else permabanned that i can petition for?

So, am I to gather from this statement that you don't have full control over your board? Far be it from me to tell someone how tk run their site, but at my board, I have the final say on all matters. If I want something done regarding a member I go in and do it. I don't put it before a commitee or seek my staff's approval.
 
I can over ride but I won't unless I see a good reason to. I prefer to let the system work and will only step in if I think it hasn't worked. Makes my life easier. :)

if you can behave relatively normally as a dual account, why wouldn't they just let you back in, save everyone the trouble.

I'm CC'ing this to Lover of Purple, because it is ultimately his decision, but I suspect he will want to talk to those people directly. It's not fair to their privacy to discuss it with others coming forward on their behalf.

I do appreciate your concern for your friends, but though you may not be aware of it, darthsikle's case has been raised many times, and the steps and reasoning were laid out each time. An unwillingness to follow or accept those decisions does not bode well for what we could expect on his return. Darthsikle is a member of another board that LoP and I admin, and I think he is "good people", when he chooses to follow the rules. It is a matter of public record that he wasn't banned over a single incident, but after years of escalating sanctions (including some incidents that would have been permaban offenses by themselves) He continued in this vein, registering duals before and after being banned, even in the past year. It's hard to overlook that

I recall dual's case less clearly, but I'd be happy to review it, if he contacts us. He too is "good people" when he follows the rules

Guess the policy has changed. Though I suspect the old policy that was written in the guidelines was just an empty placation.

For the record I have sent an e-mail requesting an overturn on my permaban today.
