YEAR LONG DIARY THREAD 2009

10/10

Woke up with an inch-long shallow cut on my chin. I think it may have something to do with the cake I was trying to cut last night.

17/10/09 For the first time in my life I own two full sized fridge freezers.

Never will I have to drink a warm beer again.

10/18 - Back from visiting the family in CT and spending way too much money at the casino. Forgot half the rules of blackjack, it's been so long. Had wonderful time anyway.

Weird. My brother's friend from college was visiting from CT and I went to the casino with him and some of his other friends and won $40 playing blackjack.

^cool! maybe you two were at the same casino at the same time?

Oct.21st - my dad's birthday - I remembered to send the damn card by snail mail two days ago so it won't make it in time. Why does that generation have such a problem with e-cards? Don't they want to save trees? I have no trouble remembering the actual date of a person's b.d. but not five bloody days before the event! So of course I had to email him today anyway so he didnt think I forgot the date. sheesh.

24/10/2009 - Doesd up on codeine and ready to finish the Wacky Hot One Hundred Version 4.0 and bare my insanity to the world.

Oct. 25 - painting the bathroom door and sink cabinet, a hutch in the dining room and reassembled/glued and painted a little set of drawers. For a break am going to try Scrabble again.
(I've set it to "Advanced" this last month and I'm not backing down.)

Oct. 27 Got two pumpkins still havent carved 'em; made skeleton cat and bat (ginger) cookies,
THEN, FIRE DEPT. came by for a random voluntary house inspection- LUCKILY had cookies to bribe 'em with as I cleverly had taken a smoke detector down to change the battery and left it empty!! Christ on a Stick! happily, my other two S.Ds. worked and I have two fire extinguishers. HOWEVER, BY LAW we're supposed to have a SD on every floor and we didnt have on in the attic. Again, I felt like a prat.
Happily those cookies were made from scratch, so they installed one up there gratis and put a battery in the one I'd forgotten.
see kids? BRIBES WORK. shweet!

Nov. 4 - music jam last night...we toasted my Aunt Leslie who died yesterday morning - age 100 - so it was a celebration! was still in her own place right until a coupla months ago- she lived life her way and liked it. Cant ask for better than that, IMHO.

29th nov 2009, wacky made me laugh my frickin ass off with one of his short stories exactly a week after the last time i laughed because of 1 of his shorts.

Dec.10 - no decorations up. no tree yet. no cookies made. no presents bought.
mailed the cards off though; that's something, right? omg.

Snow Day = No Pay. Part timers are not on salary, dont get benefits, and will not be reaping the big fat pension plan.(Which is why corporations/school boards hire part-time workers, of course).
lean Xmas ahead.
