1986(?) Chang Jiang CJ750 M1M
The Chang Jiang CJ750 is a Chinese copy of the Russian M72 which is, in turn, a copy of the BMW R71. This one has a New Hampshire registration that lists it as a 1946 EMW M72. This is clearly not correct, but it is a valid document with the correct VIN on it. In New Hampshire, vehicles that are older than ten years are not issued titles, and ownership is transferred via the registration. So, you can title it but it would be titled as a 1946 EMW M72, not a 198? Chang Jiang M1M. I do not know exactly what year this one is, but 1986 is the year that 12 volt electrics, electric starters and reverse gears were introduced to the model, and this one has all three. The odometer shows 301 miles. Judging by the condition of the bike, that is probably correct. It is in excellent shape and it runs and rides great. It shifts through all the gears smoothly. Reverse gear is working.
here's what I would ride...
