Miami's Tyler Van Dyke 'good to go' against UVA, coach says

Miami coach Mario Cristobal said quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is "good to go" against Virginia on Saturday. Van Dyke missed last week's 28-20 double-overtime win over Clemson with an undisclosed injury. Cristobal said during his news conference Monday that everything was "back to normal" at practice earlier in the day. Freshman Emory Williams got the start and went 24-of-33 for 151 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

ACC coaches wary of more realignment: 'Guessing it's not over'

In his first time addressing the media since the Atlantic Coast Conference voted in early September to add California, Stanford and SMU, ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said Wednesday he has "never been more bullish" about the health of the league. It was a tumultuous summer for the ACC, with Florida State making it clear it would consider leaving the ACC due to the league's revenue distribution model. FSU president Richard McCullough told his board of trustees in early August that "FSU will have to at some point consider very seriously leaving the ACC unless there were a radical change to the revenue distribution." After the Big Ten and Big 12 made moves to bolster their respective memberships and in turn decimate the Pac-12, the ACC picked up the two most viable remaining pieces of the Pac-12 in Cal and Stanford and also poached SMU from the AAC. The three schools will join for the 2024-25 year.

North Carolina's Tez Walker out of hospital after blind side hit
Wide receiver Tez Walker has been released from an Atlanta-area hospital, where he was evaluated after taking a blindside hit late in the fourth quarter of a 46- loss42 at Georgia Tech on Saturday night.

******
Walker made a first-down reception as the Tar Heels were attempting a comeback but was hit without seeing the defender coming and fumbled. He was on the ground for several minutes before eventually walking off with the help of trainers. But as he made his way to the sideline, he appeared unsteady on his feet.

Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Florida State atop CFP rankings
With five undefeated Power 5 teams headed into the first rankings, the biggest question was how the committee would choose to separate them. Clearly, strength of schedule played a big role.

ACC Top-25
No.4: Florida State (8-0)
No.13: Louisville (7-1)

******

As for the Seminoles, they only have one top-25 victory, over No. 14 LSU. Playing in a league -- the ACC -- with only one other ranked team (No. 13 Louisville) has not seemed to have affected the way the committee views the Seminoles. Florida State and Louisville do not play each other in the regular season, meaning the Seminoles have zero ranked teams remaining on their schedule.
