I used to use LW more, but now the searches seem to come up with so much more crap. And since I discovered torrents it just doesn't make sense to use LW and find things a file at a time...

I never let iTunes organize diddly for me, as in the long run it's a royal PITA. In the case of a new computer, you're better off organizing your media in your own directory structure and then just re-adding everything to iTunes. If everything is in a master folder (as it should be), you only have to add one folder to get all of your files added. It'll take a while, though, but still a relatively painless 2 step process. Oh, export your library first, that way all of your iTunes folders and playlists and shit are saved. Pretty simple.

As to tunes purchased from the ITMS, burn those to disc then rip using something like EAC or CDex. Personally I never use iTunes to rip or burn, but to each their own.
