Ugh! That idiot on flikr makes me want to chew glass. IT'S PALATINE HILL ASSHOLE! Fuck me! He takes tons of cliché photos with a good camera and he thinks he's goddmnes Luigi Ghirri!? Then he has the audacity to call it Palpatine Hill!? WTF!?
 
I'll drop this hint about photo #4. Italians hate this location because they think it doesn't match its surroundings. They could definitely associate with the phrase "the cake is a lie."

I'll take another wild stab and say Torino --otherwise I can assure you I'm not getting the other two without spitting out names randomly. Florence? Naples? Are any of them places in Sicily? (I've been to Agrigento & Palermo.)

I'll post something later today to get the ball rolling again...
 
Look up these things, "wedding cake" and the second hint is that you can see the same sottopassagio in the movie Hannibal. Those hints are huge.
 
Okay, if they took the trouble to actually shoot Hannibal's Florence sequences in Florence, that's where the sottopassagio pic is from.

The "wedding cake" is the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II in Rome. Still couldn't tell you who the flowers were for, and I'm a bit pressed for time, so maybe later...

They did, and it is. It's from the Piazza Della Reppublica. In the movie it's the scene where Hannibal's being followed by a pickpocket.

Well, the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II also holds Italy's tomb of the unknown soldier.

The flowers were there because of the 19 soldiers who died in Iraq in 2003.
