Identify this:

It's a monument to the Zulu dead in the battle of Isandhlwana. Not exactly fair, admittedly, since I spent last semester writing huge essays about Shaka Zulu's effects on uncolonized Southern Africa for some guy from Malawi.

As far as the meaning of the monument, beyond that, your guess is as good as mine.

Identify the character + the artist/writer.

Identify these four locations. You must get them all to move on.

I realize that without the coloration on the third one, it would make it nearly impossible. However, it's probably the most unique stone paving I've ever seen. It definitely stands out. So, to help, here's a different angle with color.

A total stab...were the flowers for the earthquake victims in Assisi?

(Beautiful town...I was there in '91 and got to see the cathedral before the quake destroyed most of the frescoes)

No, the flowers weren't for the Earthquake victims.

After making that statement, I'm shocked you haven't gotten one of these yet. GIANT HINT!

I was probably in each of the different cities in your pics for maybe a day apiece.

Giant hint, hm? I'm afraid I'm still flailing a bit. Is this one:

...the paved area outside the Assisi basilica?

Or possibly part of La mattonata?
