Alphas

So this week's, I have mixed feelings. The religious cult stuff was pretty standard and not all that interesting. Thingy Dilahunt was good but I kind of wish he'd played a better character and not just crazy religious guy. But I liked that he wasn't toally evil or anything so it was a bit sadder when he died. And the Rosen guy did good acting (he is a HOUSEHOLD NAME after all!)

The subplot was pretty decent and made Rachel (I will not call her Smelly Girl anymore) more of a rounded character.

Nina is still hot and I'm starting to find Rachel hot too, so that's nice!

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty decent episode, but not enough GARY, imo. Rachel (fine, no more smelly girl even if she did smell CANCER) is hot, and adorable. I hope she finds someone who doesn't stink someday.

I think this might be a turning point for Rosen. He can no longer sit by and allow the others to do all the dirty work.

Brent Spiner as a Hannibal Lecter like character (and Rebecca Mader if anyone cares!) in TWO WEEKS!? What's the point of LABOUR DAY, America?

Yeah, it's not as if the episodes are live broadcasts so the cast have to have a holiday!

Anyway, yeah, the cult stuff was all pretty standard tv cult stuff, but the Alpha having an actual power, actually making people happy and actually looking like he had angel wings to his followers made it more bearable. Like he said, he wasn't just some charlatan.

I liked how Rosen was only allowed to say "shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiihhhh" instead of "SHIT!!!", but showing the good guy shooting someone in the face was, in comparison, perfectly acceptable.

I wasn't entirely clear on why the guy's dad torched the church and congregation at the beginning? How does your son being an angel and the ultimate proof of God's existence make it ok to kill yourself and a bunch of others? It's still suicide and murder!

Rachel and Gary make a nice couple, but Rachel really should've hugged him. I would've hugged him.

Yay!

I saw a guy today on the underground who looked like Gary. I swooned. I wonder if the Gary actor is over here right now.

You should have texted "is that Gary?" to someone and watched to see if he reacted (since he'd be able to see the text in the air, you see.)

Unfortunately there's no phone signal on the tube, so I won't be able to send a text if I ever see him again. :(

HEY, I just started this week's episode and they're talking about Bill "losing his ability." WHEN THE FUcK DID THAT HAPPEN? Did I miss an episode? IMDB and Wiki say I didn't. I'M CONFUSED. HELP ME. (I'll be finished the episode by the time anyone replies to this.)

Yeah I had no idea either. I think it was supposed to have happened last week with Garret Dillahunt's character's power doing it to him but I guess they forgot to tell us!

Not that it mattered in any way because it's back to normal by the end anyway!

YEAH, I was confused about that too. I thought I'd missed the explanation OR SOMETHING. Pretty good episode after I go over thinking I'd missed something. Data was good, and I bet Charlotte eats chocolate WHENEVER SHE FUCKDAMN PLEASES.

I guess it did happen in the last episode and we all just forgot (an Alpha made us forget!?) YES I liked this week's episode, other than the bit where Rossen takes a break from the invisible killer to draw two dots on paper being silly. Data was good and it was sad that he died. Charlotte was quite good too and we'll probably see her again (UNLESS SHE'S IN OUR BLIND SPOTS LOL.)

He said at the end of the previous episode that he still hadn't got his power back, but it was made to seem like something that would return to normal by the next week, so you didn't need to remember it.
