Community (season 3 on)

A good idea!
Dan says, "I have not seen the fourth season yet. I swear to God. … Sony said they're very interested in recording me watching it as a commentary track [for the Season 4 DVDs] … but I'll be checking it out soon, and then I'll figure out what we’re doing for Season 5."

Dan Harmon, Chris McKenna Officially Returning to 'Community'

Dan Harmon is officially returning to NBC's "Community."

Reps for the network and producers Sony Television confirmed that Harmon and the comedy's former writer/producer Chris McKenna will be back as executive producers for Season 5.

The deals were expected to come through last week after Harmon confirmed that he would be returning on Twitter, as previously reported by TheWrap.

McKenna served as co-executive producer and writer on the series for its first three seasons. He left for Universal TV and worked on Fox's "The Mindy Project."

Harmon was let go amid low ratings, feuding with Chevy Chase (who left last season) and a reputation for running late on scripts. He was replaced by David Guarascio and Moses Port, who focused more on relationships between the characters and less on the narrative oddities for which Harmon was celebrated.

Harmon began fueling the talk of his return in late-May when he reportedly announced during his Harmontown podcast that he would be returning to the comedy. A week ago, he tweeted that he would be back, though an individual with knowledge of the negotiations told TheWrap that his contract had not been finalized.
It is done.

Never one to mince words, Community creator Dan Harmon has spoken out for the first time after screening the cult comedy’s polarizing Season 4 — which, for the uninitiated, moved ahead without his specific brand of “genius.”

The returning showrunner revealed during his latest Harmontown podcast that he’d finally gotten around to watching his creation’s latest run. And…? “I guess I already knew this, but apparently I’m a genius,” he shared. “I think I feel pretty comfortable in expressing that [Season 4] wasn’t my cup of tea.

“It’s not somebody doing what they do,” he explained, referring to his one-off replacements Moses Port and David Guarascio. “It’s very much like an impression — an unflattering one. It’s 13 episodes of people doing, ‘Derpy, derpy, der, I’m Dan Harmon, der.’”

Conceding that his fill-ins simply “didn’t know what they were getting themselves into,” Harmon mused: “They went to Comic-Con, saw what was going on… and went, ‘F–k.’” Still, he noted, “They tried their best.”

Harmon recently spoke to E! Online about his impending plans to binge-watch Season 4, saying that whatever the outcome, he wouldn’t “be a jerk about it.

“I know there were some great writers working on that show who bled with me for Seasons 1, 2 and 3,” he added. “The worst thing I can do is fart in their direction at all.”

lol

Okay, if you listen to the podcast he doesn't sound like a dick http://podbay.fm/show/542228532/e/1371464061

Surely he's not including 'Herstory Of Dance' in that!!!!!!

(For some reason people seem to think Herstory Of Dance was a great episode but I think it was just slightly better than the rest of season 4.)

I think they were just desperate for a good episode of Community and were becoming numb to the awful.

Well, he pretty much gave us his honest opinion in that podcast. Even if it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be.
