Doctor Who: The Day of The Doctor

Matt Smith was the Doctor for over 200 years without showing signs of aging so Hurt must be Doctor for even longer than that?

It could also be due to effects from the Time War. Also, the stress that the Time War inevitably put on The Doctor probably aged him.

Well knowing he was going to die soon would be quite stressful too (or did he know all along that he was going to fake his death...ah fuck who cares.)

The Doctor has aged significantly in some cases due to problems with time, going places where he wasn't 'supposed' to be. Patrick Troughton's Second Doctor was aged when he starred with Colin Baker in "The Two Doctors". And Peter Davison's Fifth Doctor was aged in "Time Crash" with David Tennant. So who knows for certain. I'm sure if anyone asked Russell T. Davies or Steven Moffatt that they'd just do what they always do... make something up. ^_^

Time Lord ageing has always been inconsistent, sometimes he'll age hundres of years and not look different, and sometimes he'll be aged 100 years and look like this:

Here's the Children in Need clip - an actual clip from the episode this time so spoilers:

Clara seems unchanged after having lived hundreds of lives over millions of years (I know there was probably some line about her not being able to remember most of it.)

They weren't all actual Clara, just copies of her across time, so it's entirely possible that she'd end up with no memory of it once she leaves The Doctor's time stream.

Here's another trailer for An Adventure in Space and Time:

Oh and lest we forget when he's aged against his consent

There's another mini-episode out, called "The Last Day". You should be able to buy it on iTunes for free, but the pricing's fucked up.

So here it is on Vimeo for as long as it lasts:

They showed an "exclusive" clip (basically John Hurt in a dusty barn and he askes if anyone's there and he turns round and it's Rose and she says "just a WOLF" or something) then the hosts were all "WOW BILLIE PIPER, BIG SHOCKER" as if we didn't know she was going to be in the episode.

Jenna Coleman is really small.

Is there a Dr Who thing on this weekend? I hardly noticed. If only the BBC would promote it a little more.

I watching some talking head thing on BBC3 where half the guests obviously weren't REAL FANS and it disgusted me.

Yeah there was "Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide" on BBC3 the other day that had a section about the Doctor's male companions and decided that it was better to spend time talking about Adam (FROM TWO FUCKING EPISODES) than mention any of the classic series male companions. Which was bullshit.

Anyway, An Adventure in Space and Time airs tonight on BBC2 at 9pm, and tomorrow on BBC America at some time I guess in the US.

ALSO on Saturday there will be a 15 minute skit thing featuring the classic Doctor actors:

Peter Davison is writing and directing a special mini-episode featuring past incarnations of the Time Lord.

Listed as the The Five(ish) Doctors, the 15-minute comedy will debut on the BBC Red Button, after The Day of the Doctor, at 10pm on Saturday night. The synopsis reads, "Miss the classic Doctors? They're back in this celebratory special written and directed by Peter Davison."

It’s unconfirmed exactly who will be involved in the short but earlier this year Sean Pertwee (son of the third Doctor Jon Pertwee) did tweet – and subsequently delete – a casting call for a scene featuring Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and Broadchurch actor Olivia Colman all playing themselves. It is highly likely to be linked.

As to what the comedy will concern, a picture (below) was taken in September of Davison and McCoy filming a scene in which they ‘protested’ their omission from the 50th anniversary special with banners that read “No Classics? No 50th!” and “Have a heart, Classic Doctors want a part!” Being the keen Sherlock Holmes's we are, we’d say that this is linked to the mini-episode too.

Looking forward to the one tonight, classic tardis, and Bradley really looks the part.

Not keen on the red button, if you dont time it exactly right the thing is always half way through, or nearly at the end when you start watching it.
