Dollhouse discussion thread

But that isn't what Helo was asking about, he wanted to know who Alpha's target was. I can't remember.. lol it doesn't matter.

I still think his initial target was Whisky, because he wanted Echo to be number one, so jealousy won out there and he sliced poor lil Acker to pieces.

And before he destroyed his wedge, he knocks Topher out then gets the doctor, so the wedge must have come much later.

Maybe Topher made Dr Sexy hate him, because he hates himself.

I can see why...

Watched the unaired 13th episode

HUGE SPOILERS BUT I'M NOT USING TAGS JUST STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS

SERIOUSLY WHAT'S THE POINT OF SPOILER TAGS WHEN YOU CAN JUST STOP READING

Best episode of Dollhouse ever! And of course it happens to be the one that'll be seen by the least people. I suppose in a way that's good because they won't have any idea how the story is going to go over the coming seasons. Now that they've set an episode in the future there's a point they HAVE to reach and it's going to be fun getting there. The flashbacks were really good and looked like a much more entertaining show than season one.

Felicia Day was good and really cute. There should be more flashforwards showing her.

The little girl was Molly from Heroes, right? She was really good in this episode. Who was in her body originally? I suspected the guy who was in Victor's body earlier in the episode. But I suppose it could just be some random bastard.

It was cool seeing that Ballard and Echo will be working to bring the Dollhouse down, but we already know they're going to fail, so that's kind of a downer. Interesting that Boyd was only in one scene (where he was leaving for some reason.) Maybe he's getting killed off? Topher being responsible for ending the world wasn't really a surprise. As if we needed another reason to hate him.

BEST PART though was of course Amy Acker. Whisky floating about the Dollhouse in a white dress like a ghost ten years in the future, the fact that she didn't look any older (it's Amy Acker, she'll never age), the fact that her face was fixed (I knew Joss wouldn't be able to resist showing her face in its full beauty again) and the fact that Whisky is still alive ten years in the future and therefore CANNOT BE KILLED OFF, EVER! Err, unless she died at the end of the episode. It wasn't totally clear.

Only bad thing about the episode was the opening scene where they were all using weird phrases to show it was the future...but it was only ten years in the future and I can't imagine language would have changed much. Though they ended up talking normally after that anyway.

Yeah, that episode was stupidly good and I really really hope Joss sticks to what happened in it.

One of the best things about it was the lack of Duckshoe. It's annoying that even Molly from Heroes (yes it was her) plays Echo better than she can.

There's a nice theory that because it's called Epitaph One we might get an Epitaph episode each year or something, which would rock.

If they don't air it on TV then they don't have to stick to the storyline.

I wish they'd just kill off Duckshoe's character and find a new lead for the show.

Well it was never intended to be aired on TV, so them not counting the storyline seems pointless.

Joss has said they're sticking to the storyline.

You should try to find this episode, Cassie, it blows away the rest of the series.

Is it out on DVD or something? I'm not going to buy it for one episode, but I might rent it.

Yeah it'll be on the DVD set with the (apparently also very good) unused pilot.

It's TV and it's on FOX, never get your hopes up about how things should go! That way you won't be disappointed when they mess it up, or you'll be really happily surprised when they do it right.

Felicia Day has really nice lips.

Season 2 spoilers:

Comic Con: Summer Glau and Alexis Denisof to Appear in Season 2 of Dollhouse?

Despite being mostly tight-lipped when it came to revealing many of the story developments of the second season of Dollhouse, Joss Whedon did hint at it having “a couple of other faces you recognize.” As time wore on though, so did his penchant for secrecy. Whedon dropped two names: Alexis Denisof and Summer Glau. Now, any Buffy and Angel fans can attest to the greatness of Alexis Denisof, who played the bumbling “watcher” Wesley who was originally sent to look after Faith (played by Eliza Dushku). Whedon fans will surely enjoy that bit of TV synergy, but Summer Glau is naturally the real draw here.

Whedon made sure to clarify that, at this point, Glau is still a “maybe”. They’re still working out the details, but if everything goes as planned, she will indeed be on the show. I’m curious to see what part she ends up playing, because there’s a notable similarity between the blank-faced River (her character on Firefly) and the “dolls” (or “actives”) in Dollhouse. How interested would you guys be to see her play a “doll” on the show?

SUMMER GLAU. I'm betting she wont be a doll though, as that's too obvious. Remember what Joss said before:

"I mentioned it to her before [SCC] was canceled. I was like, 'You know, we should get you in the 'house.' But first we have to come up with something that works." And casting her as a doll would not work, insists Whedon. "Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she's done that [type of role] a lot," he says. "I'd rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who's good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, 'I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.'"

SHOULD BE GOOD.

But if her and Amy appear on screen at the same time...won't it be the end of the universe?
