DR WHO thread

That was, frankly, one giant wank right into the faces of the British public.

Most of the ACTUAL STORY was put on the sidelines for RTD gushing over how wonderful his Doctor and characters are.

The Master spends the whole of last episode turning himself into everyone just so Timothy Daltan can go "NO ACTUALLY MY GAUNTLET CAN UNDO THAT SOMEHOW" and it's over.

They spend ages getting Gallifrey back only for Timothy Dalton to go "Ah ha ha ha, my plan is to destroy every! (Like Davros did last year) (THIS ISN'T BAD WRITING)" and then The Master goes "Hey, no, KAPOW" and it's over.

BUT WHO NEEDS TIME TO GIVE PLOT THREADS NICE AND INTERESTING ENDING WHEN YOU HAVE TO DEVOTE WHAT SEEMED LIKE HALF THE EPISODE TO GIVING ALL YOUR CHARACTERS ENDINGS EVEN THOUGH THE ONES THEY HAD WERE FINE ANYWAY. Martha nad Mickey are married because they're both black. Jack goes off with Midshipman Frame because RTD fancies Russel Tovey. Rose is there because ROSOEEESEESSEsaa ddsssfdhdd

But I liked Matt Smith.

GOOD THINGS

I liked the acting between Tennant and Cribbins. I was dreading Rose's appearance, but she didn't get any more time than the other companions and it was quite restrained and not all "I LOVE YOU ROSE, I AM ACTUALLY UNAMBIGUOUsLY IN LOVE WITH YOU!" so that was good. It was cool seeing Matt Smith.

BAD AND OTHER THINGS

So, it was lucky that Timothy Dalton had a button on his death glove that can reverse everyone being turned into John Simm.

And it was also lucky that shooting that machine somehow made Gallifrey and the Time Lords (and the Master I guess) disappear again! Boy those Timelords were a real threat for a few seconds there!

So when the Doctor was spinning around between The Master and Timothy Dalton, why didn't Timothy just SHOOT HIM WITH HIS DEATH GLOVE?

Star Wars rip-offs 3: Galactic Senate, Millennium Falcon gun pods, Cantina (was that a girl dressed as Princess Leia sitting next to Jack?)

Star Trek rip-offs: Wrath of Khan death for the Doctor.

That cactus girl needed a good slap.

Why were Mickey and Martha married other than the fact that they're both black and so that RTD didn't have to write seperate goodbyes for both?

"I WISH I WAS YOUR DAD" I'm sure that's not foreshadowing or anything!

Wonder what the kids watching though of the Doctor helping Jack get laid with that big-eared boy.

Anyway, I'll post more when I think of it.

It's like you two are INSIDE MY MIND!

I was sitting there just mumbling "this is a load of shite" over and over. None of it made any bloody sense, which was made all more infuriating because Tennant and Cribbins were really good when they had the occasional line that was written in plain English. And unlike the first part, it wasn't even entertaining, while bad. It was just bad. Still, I did quite like the never ending ending. Radiation poisoning was good way of letting him stick around long enough to say his goodbyes, even if some of them were a bit lame.

I know Luke was in another room for most of the two-parter with the Doctor, but he seemed to have a lot of trouble recognising him. And the Martha/Mickey thing was dumb. And I wondered what kids and parents would think about the scene with Jack... but then this episode was sandwiched between two (much better written) installments of Eastenders that were all about a gay couple.

All in all it was another letdown and I feel sorry for David Tennant having to leave on such a crumby mess of an episode. He's been a great Doctor and he deserved something better.

I liked it, was slightly dissapointed that they didnt reveal who the long haired time lord was who still kept his face hidden, a lot of people seemed to think it was Matt Smith himself on another forum I post at, and they didnt say who the woman was, but they seem to have picked someone that looked an awful lot like an older Susan, so that would be my guess.

I reckon they didn't tie that up because at some point they will revisit that, and it might just turn up it was Matt hiding after all.

Wouldn't that be a mind fuck?

I knew Tovey was gay, didnt think Midshipman Frame was.

I wonder if after having sex with Jack he'll say "youve been Framed!"

Twas ok, except for the timelords being a bit pants, matt smith got a hard act to follow but thats why they have the human tennant in the alternate rose timeline to somehow return and revert back to the doctor when everyone has slated matt smith to death.....

well we will see..... just saying it wasnt put in there just as a rose tyler fail safe..... it a fantastic troll on the doc who forums...

What you mean exactly like the plot of The Prisoner? Is RTD running out of ideas entirely?

I predict "His name is Alonso" will become big in gay bars in this country. I also had to explain to my 7 year old daughter that she had just seen a gay pick up bar scene. Was that really necessary? I was hoping to wait till she was 8 years old at least.

Typical moronic RTD writing. Let's help challenge stereotypes of gay men being seedy and promiscuous by having our one gay character be a total fucking intergalactic slut. IN A KIDS SHOW.

And to check I wasn't being homophobic, I asked myself "well, would it seems weird if it was the exact same scene with a woman instead of Big Ears?" But then I realised RTD would never write that scene with a woman.
