General wrestling discussion

SO BACKLASH WAS LAST NIGHT. SHould I start a new thread no one will reply to or just post the results here in a thread no one will rpely to?GF HERE>

Christian beat Jack Swagger for the ECW title - Pretty good match.

Jericho beat Steamboat - Good match. Steamboat messed up a bit on a figure four a few other moves but was still great for an old guy who hasn't wrestling regularly in years.

Kane beat CM Punk - Kind of a weird match. They tried hard but the crowd weren't really into it and actually seemed to be supporting Kane over Punk by the end (probably because Punk hit about ten million kicks and they felt sorry for Kane).

Jeff beat Matt in an I Quit match - Pretty good again. Jeff strapped him up on a table and threatened to jump off a ladder but Matt begged for mercy and quit. Of course Jeff jumped anyway.

Santina beat Beth - Because Khali laid her out because she said he's dumb for wanting to kiss Santina who is just Santino in disguise and Santina revealed he's in love with JR...yeah.

Orton, Rhodes and Dibiase beat HHH, Batista and Shane - Stipulation was that if Legacy won the match in ANY way Orton would be the new champion which had me worried because it would be really weak for Orton to win because Shane got DQed or something. But thankfully Orton hit HHH with the RKO then punted his head off for the win. HHH was taken away on a stretcher afterwards and some of the fans sang the "HEY HEY HEY, GOODBYE" song. LOL.

Edge beat Cena for the title - Haha. Good match. I thought they might actually have had Edge win on his own for once. But no, Big Show just randomly chokeslammed Cena into a big pot or something. Still good.

The Edge-Cena-HHH-Orton swapping of titles just looks so fucking dull. Surely it's time they starting elevating some talent to chamionship standing?

Who, Swagger??!!
Ziggler?

HA! FUCK NO!!

I got it! Give it to Steamboat again!!!

Just give Untertaker the belt til he retires, THEN STOP DOING WRESTLING SHOWS FOR ALL TIME!

Did you know that JR had no idea they were going to have Santina say that? That's why he got so angry Michael Cole and said "who fed you that line?"

Yup, I had a heavy suspicion that he was clueless and it was Vince fucking with him. He seemed lost for words for once!

JR deserves respect. :(

So do the puppies!

SO I WATCHED JUDGMENT DAY IF ANYONE CARES

Umaga beat CM Punk - Good opener. Umaga's first match in quite a while. I wish he'd drop the nerve holds but otherwise he's really good. Was stupid to have Umaga win as Punk lost to Kane on the last ppv and it was in his fucking home town and YOU'D THINK they'd want to build him up a bit for when he cahes in Money In The Bank. But apparently not.

Christian beat Jack Swagger - Another good match between thses two. Christian pulled the tights to win after Swagger had been caught doing the same thing. IT'S IRONY OR SOMETHING.

John Morrison beat Shelton Benjamn - Yes, another good match. A few slopped bits but it's a Shelton match so that's normal. Morrison did an amazing springboard 450 to the outside and his split-legged corkscrew moonsault looks great too. Fans seem to be getting into Morrison as a face which is good.

Long bit with The Miz insulting people. Miz's mic work was really good. I didn't get any of the "local sports team" references of course but his delivery was great and he got bigtime heat. Santino came out and got a pretty good face reaction and was amusing too. Miz gave him a DDT, Chavo gave Santion a frogsplash for caling Vikie a pig. OKAY.

Rey Mysterio beat Jericho - Match of the night. Jericho in particular went all out to have a great match. He avoided the 619 about forty seven times until Rey finally hit it and got the win. REALLY GOOD.

Batista beat ORton by DQ - Orton always impresses me with his ring work and Batista is fine with a good opponent so this was going along well until the lame finish. I hate the "heel champion takes the coward's way out!" finish. Then Ric Flair ran in to save Batista. He better not wrestle again, the old bastard.

Cena beat Big Show - Pretty boring. Show just litreally destroyed Cena for 20 minutes, hitting a move then Cena would writhe around selling his ribs for ages afterwards...until Cena made his comeback. SUDDENLY his ribs didn't hurt anymore and he could hit all his moves normally, even the FU. Uh huh. Waste of time.

Edge beat Jeff Hardy - Good match as you'd expect from two good wrestlers who have wrestled each other 10,000 times. Matt Hardy ran in out of nowhere and hit Jeff with his cast. Jeff kicked out and but Edge gave him a DDT from the top rope a minute later to kill him.

GOOD SHOW I'D RECOMMEND DOWNLOADING IT

^SOMEONE READ MY REVIEW

According to more than one source close to the situation, a relatively new member of the WWE creative team apparently has a case of jealousy towards The Miz stemming from Miz’s relationship with WWE Divas champ Maryse Ouellet. Rumor is that the writer was trying to date Maryse right before she started seeing The Miz. Among other things, the writer has been pushing for the Miz to look like a goof on TV and appear weak whenever possible. Most within the company who know of the issue are just laughing it off, and one source says it should be expected from the “geeks” that Vince hires as writers.

Stop hiring "geeks" to write your shows, Vince.

Can't read the review right now since I downloaded Judgement Day and I'm watching it tonight and I might as well not know the results before hand just for...well you know.

I'll read it after and give my thoughts as well once I've watched it though!

Hurray! It was a good show. It's funny how all the ppvs (well, all two of them) after WM have been much better than WM.

GOOD SHOW.

Umaga beat CM Punk -

Not bad. Was entertaining enough and the first time I've seen Umaga in ages. Not much build up story wise to the match so didn't care at all on that front but it was entertaining enough.

Christian beat Jack Swagger -

Christian seems to be getting some good pops from the crowd since his comeback and he's the sort of name that ECW will need to make it even a tiny bit interesting. I'm still not going to download it though. Swagger is obviously going places and looks like a good bet for the future. Good match.

John Morrison beat Shelton Benjamn -

These two are just athletically brilliant and I liked the angle of the match being about who was better in that department. It was a good match again and Morrison hit two fucking great moves in picture perfect fashion. Entertaining! But PLEASE PLEASE make him take those furry ankle warmers off they look fucking retarded.

Miz Segment -

The Miz is really good. I like how they've used him so far coming out and bitching Cena and the crowd and his mic skills are right up there with the best and he's a decent wrestler as well. Giving him such a big chunk of air time at a PPV obviously shows how much they rate him and he deserves the push. He was entertaining the whole way through and I loved it when he punked the crowd for shouting "What?" and "You suck". The crowd got owned and clearly didn't know what to shout at him after that!

Rey Mysterio beat Jericho -

Great match. To be epected from these two though. I couldn't help thinking about the other athletically charged match from earlier with Morrison and Shelton (which was good in its own right) and how much better this was in comparison. It's all about keeping the energy and pace going and working the crowd. The whole thing was great and I loved the quick 619 in to the frog splash from the top rope. It looked AWESOME.

Batista beat Orton by DQ -

Not bad. Not good. Orton is a coward because he's a heel. We get it, Vince. After all the hype surrounding Batista coming back to hurt Orton this could have just as easily been a Raw match and didn't deliver. Orton was good as usual though and his ring presence is great but the ending with Flair who couldn't sell one bloody punch and ruined the momentum in an already crap finish made this one seriously forgettable.

Cena beat Big Show -

Really shit match. I was bored the entire time. Cena is hurt so Show dominates and Cena then FU's the Show at the end for the win which was impressive the first time we saw it. Ok..it's still impressive how strong he is but that's not enough for a bloody PPV match to work its way up to. Crap. Crap. Crap.

Edge beat Jeff Hardy -

This was obviously going to be a good match and it was. Edge is far and away my favourite superstar in WWE and so naturally I look forward to his matches the most. Hardy is a great high flyer and always puts on a great match but I still don't buy him being in the main event for the title. His original Title win seemed like a novelty and I was pretty sure beforehand that Edge would retain which he did.

Still, it was good stuff with the obligatory dirty finish from Matt Hardy because yes Vince we know. A heel can never under any circumstances ever beat a face clean!

Good show marred by one absolutley shit title match (Cena v Show) and one mediocre one (Orton v Batista) that would usually be enough to kill a ppv dead but all the other matches delivered above average so this one still gets the nod as worth watching.

THE MYSTERY OLD DUDE WAS THERE AGAIN! HE'S BEEN IN THE SAME PLACE IN THE CROWD AT EVERY SINGLE PPV AND LIVE SHOW (RAW & SMACKDOWN AT LEAST) SINCE WRESTLEMANIA AND QUITE POSSIBLY BEFORE.

I MUST KNOW WHO HE IS.

Oh, that's the guy you meant...I don't know who he is. I'll be looking out for him from now on. Maybe he's HHH's dad or something.

Well it shows how much ring experience that have compared to Shelton/Morrison, Rey's been wrestling for something insane like twenty years even though he's only 35 and Jericho must be over 15 years by now. Morrison will get to their level eventually (not sure about Benjamin as he's been around longer and doesn't seem to get any better.)

Misssterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Fired!

FIRED!

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Mr. Kennedy (Ken Kennedy) as of today, May 29, 2009. WWE wishes Ken the best in all future endeavors.

LOL, he really did suck quite badly and spent nearly two years out with injury, so it shouldn't really be a surprise...but it's still funny.

I guess it's a bit of a surprise when it comes in the same week he's made a comeback from injury, and been shoehorned into the main event of RAW (which by all accounts on teh Interweb, was one of the worst ever).
