General wrestling discussion

Remember Junkyard Dog?

He could headbutt like a mutha fucka, couldnt he?

Yes he could.
Chris benoit used to as well.

Finally finished Summerslam.

Rey beat Dolph Ziggler - Good match. Ziggler gave a really good performance so hopefully they'll do something with him in the future.

MVP beat Jack Swagger - Seemed short and the crowd wasn't in to it. Both have been lost in the shuffle since moving to RAW.

Big Show and Jericho beat Cryme Tyme - Okay match.

Kane beat Great Khali - It's Kane versus Great Fucking Khali, how good to expect it was?

DX beat Legacy - Michaels pinned Rhodes with the superkick. Good tag match. Nothing AMAZING or anything, but the marks were into it.

Christian beat Regal - In 8 seconds. Typical ECW getting shafted on ppv deal.

Orton beat Cena - The booking was shit. Orton got himself by disqualified...except Lillian announced that Orton was the winner and NEW champion (he was champion going in you daft bint and he didn't win.) Then she said Mr McMahon had just informed her (even though he was nowhere to be seen) that the match MUST CONTINUE! Then Orton got counted out. BUT IT WAS MUST CONTINUE. Then Orton pinned Cena with his feet on the ropes. Then another referee came out so it continued again. Then a "fan" ran into the ring and they acted like it was real and not supposed to happen (it was Ted Debiase's younger brother). Then Orton just pinned Cena with the RKO anyway. Yeah.

CM Punk beat Jeff Hardy for the title in a TLC match - Best match of the night. If you watch this show just watch the first and last matches. Punk won clean (thankfully no Matt Hardy shocking heel turn.) BUT THEN THE FUCKNIG UNDERTAKER CAME OUT AND CHOKESLAMMED PUNK!!!! Jeff who!?

I see Big Show has lost a pile of weight again, and still sucks.

I wouldn't mind seeing a threeway dance between Punk, Hardy and 'Taker for a while. Hopefully leave the Belt on Punk for a while, and let him work the smart arse heel gimmick for a while. He can pull it off.

Lillian appears to be screwing a lot up. I guess she can't wait to leave at the end of the month and have a normal life after getting married.

Hardy's leaving after the next Smackdown tapings.

Okay so Breaking Point was on Sunday and I remembered to write A DETAILED REPORT.

Jericho and Big Show beat MVP and Mark Henry - Same Jericho/Show tag match as always where the face hits Jericho with a move but then stumbles near the ropes so Big Show can punch him out and Jericho wins.

Kofi Kingstone beat The Miz - Good match, ACTUALLY, as Miz hit some new moves and spots. Kofi's still a bit limited though.

DeBiase and Rhodes beat DX - Rhodes put Shawn in a figure four round the post and DeBiase held him in a million dollar dream at the same time and Shawn gave up. It was a "submissions count anywhere" match. Good to see Legacy actually get a win (OF COURSE IT WAS SHAWN WHO JOBBED AND NOT HUNTER.)

Kane beat Khali in a kendo stick match - Do I have to say anything?

Christian beat William Regal - Really good match as Christian hasn't had a bad perforamance since his return and Regal's been great lately. Lots of cool moves from Regal here.

Segment with Pat Patterson and Dolph Ziggler. Went WAY TOO FUCKING LONG. Ziggle kicked him eventually and John Morrison ran out. According to Meltzer there was originally going to be a Morrison/Ziggle match on the show but they couldn't come up with a finish(!) so they had this shit instead.

Cena beat Orton for the title in an I Quit match - This was more like torture porn than wrestling at times as Orton handcuffed Cena up and slithered around humping the match and making noises and occasionaly hitting Cena with things. Cena put him in the STFU but pulling Orton's arm over his throat with the handcuffs so it at least looked better than normal.

CM Punk "beat" Undertaker - Really rushed match, less than ten minutes. Taker "won" with the Hell's Gate then Teddy Long came out and said that move was banned (OMG HEEL TURN) and the match continued. Punk got the Anaconda Vice on and the referee said RING THE BELL and...did I mention this show was in Montreal and they did the screwjob finish for the 83rd time? Yet earlier on Jerry Lawler was moaning about the Montreal fans not letting go when they chanted "You screwed Bret" at Shawn? Yeah, it was.

These faked finishes are boring as fuck.

It was because they didn't want Punk to lose the title so soon but can't possibly have The Undertaker just lose a match.

Mayb Punk should just go & eat some of Jeff's steroids.

AND A GIANT DUCK.

THE GREAT DUCKEE!

Watching ECW and Goldust is over like rover. Never thought that would happen in 2009.

've always liked Dustin Runnells. I feel he's a very underrated worker. He sure sells moves like a trooper too.

It's weird though that he sucks when ever he's NOT in the Goldust costume (he was in TNA prior to his recent WWE return and it was not pretty.) MAYBE THE CHARACTER HAS BECOME THE MAN.

The Rock made a surprise appearance Saturday night at the
WXW C4 show in Mineola, FL to promote Sarona Snuka's (Jimmy Snuka's daughter) in-ring debut. C4 is run by Samu and supported by Afa Anoai's Wild Samoan Training Center. We're told he looked jacked and something more resembling his wrestling days than recent years. From one reader who attended the show: "The crowd absolutely went crazy. Rock spoke just for a few minutes and was very low key, and supportive of Afa and WXW. It was a complete surprise to everyone which was kept secret until he arrived. His mom was there as well. What an incredible show!"

He's also going to be on Smackdown this week in a pre-taped interview (as it's the tenth anniversary.) COULD ALL THIS BE A SIGN that he's returning to wrestling?

Probably not.

Hell In A Cell ppv was last night.

Undertaker beat CM Punk for the world title in the first cell match - Yes, yet another title changed. I guess they didn't want Punk to win on a screwjob two shows in a row so the ONLY OTHER FINISH was Undertaker winning the title. Decent match, but short, and why the fuck was it on FIRST?

John Morrison beat Dolph Ziggler - Good long match. MAYBE TOO LONG? But at least they're getting a chance and Morrison is over with the fans.

Mickie James beat Alicia Fox - Good for a woman's match as nothing was messed up and Fox looked like an actual decent wrestler.

Jericho and Big Show beat Batista and Rey Mysterio - Best match of the show. Crowd were into it, all four worked well, some great stuff between Rey and Big Show with Rey seemingly almost about to beat him...before Show just punched him out of mid-air for the pin.

Randy Orton beat John Cena for the WWE title in another Cell match - Yes, another title change and again it wasn't the main event. Orton won clean by tying Cena in the ropes, choking him out, then punting him. Better than last month.

Drew McIntyre beat Ron Killings - WHY did they think it was a good idea putting this match on so late on the card!? Crowd didn't care at all. Would have been better on Smackdown.

Kofi Kingstone (who is now from Ghana!) beat The Miz and Jack Swagger - another match that suffered from being on too late. Good enough though.

DX beat Legacy in the third Cell match - HHH was locked out and Legacy beat up Shawn. For ages. Like, it was ridiculous, really. Then HHH finally found bolt cutters (and took ages to go and look for them) and came in and DX destroyed them and blah balh.

It was a good show as far as wrestling went anyway.

Are there now two Diva's titles?

The order of that card is all over the fucking place.

There's the Diva's title (RAW, held by Mickie James) and the Woman's title (Smackdown, held by Michelle McCool.) ANd yes, it's fucking pointless having two.

Another death. Older, but still sad.

Captain Lou Albano, long-time wrestling manager and actor who as the father of Cyndi Lauper in the "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" video helped launch the Rock & Wrestling Connection in the 80s, passed away today at the age of 76. He had been in poor health for awhile and was recently moved to hospice care.
