Grant Gustin as The Flash

The Flash Exclusive: Devon Graye To Play Copycat Trickster In Mark Hamill's Return | Comicbook.com

The CW has lined up Devon Graye, best known for his portrayal of the teenage Dexter Morgan on Dexter, to play opposite Grant Gustin and Mark Hamill in the upcoming seventeenth episode of The Flash, ComicBook.com has learned exclusively.

Graye will play "Axel/Trickster," a young copycat of Mark Hamill's veteran, incarcerated con man James Jesse, also known as The Trickster.

Axel is presumably Axel Walker, the second Trickster from the comics who was created during Geoff Johns' run. He took over for Jesse on the Rogues when Jesse had gone straight and was working with the FBI, stealing the original Trickster's costume and weapons and acquiring some new toys to go along with them.

Based on the original reports, it's been speculated that it will be the emergence of Axel that drives Jesse to work with the authorities, in a kind of Hannibal Lecter capacity to help take down his imitator.

Here's how they described the episode at the time of the Hamill announcement:

“In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original's deadly footsteps. The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original 'Flash' on the CBS version."

An exact airdate or title for episode seventeen isn't yet known. The Flash returns to The CW with new episodes on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

He's cute.

OMG Heat Wave (or is it Heatwave?) is Wentworth Miller's brother from Prison Break!

So why didn't he just run really fast and knock out both Captain Cold and Heatwave instead of having to make them "cross the streams"? Okay, I know it's because it's a tv show.

I thought I read that the Pied Piper was the police chief's boyfriend. Or maybe that's in the comics? Anyway doesn't seem like it now.

And why did they imprison him in their secret prison instead of giving him to the police? He doesn't have powers, he crimes were tech based. Why doesn't Barry or Caitlin or someone say "hang on, we don't have the right to lock someone up in a tiny cell with no bathroom without a trial!"

Yeah, also getting tired of people letting themselves be captured so that they are in the exact place they wanted to be all along.

I get that in flashworld its unlikely they would have seen the Dark Knight, but they should have seen Skyfall, everyone else on the planet did.

How do they give the prisoners food and water? ONE OF THEM CAN TURN INTO POISON GAS, IMO.

At least there is someone there to potentially feed them, what about Slade Wilson down in that hole?
