House of the Dragon

I wonder if Daemon really expected the king to marry Rhaenyra to him, or if he was hoping for Otto to spy on them and create some chaos.

I think his plan was just to knock up Rhaenyra so she'd have to marry him, or at least discredit her. He didn't know his ex girlfriend is now a master spy or whatever so that part couldn't have been his plan but he was fine with it happening.

Good episode, I liked how (almost) all the regular and recurring characters got together at the wedding and we see all the developing alliances between them. The dancing was fun. Viserys sure is sickly!

Jason Lannister is such a good prick.

I quite liked Daemon's wife and was a bit disappointed she died so quickly!

I liked episodes four and five the most out of this season as they seemed to settle down to telling a story within a given time peroid and really let us get to know the characters and get a feel for the political situation. The problem with this week's - and possibly an ongoing problem for the show - is that it jumped forward in time so far that it felt like a different show. Or, at least, a different season. And it's still not settled down! I liked Daemon being actually happily married Laena but oops she's dead by the end of the episode (in a kind of confusingly exceuted way) so we won't be getting any more of that! I liked finally seeing a bit more of the Strong family but oops two of them have just been murdered by the third! Larys being so incredibly evil at the end would have worked better if we'd seen more of him interacting with his famiily before now. We didn't really have any sense of their relationship. On the plus side the actor did sinister very well.

The masturbating out the window was funny and I like the autistic, bug-loving princess.

Have to also really praise the make-up job they did on Milly Alcock and Emily Carey. I'd totally think there were new actors playing Rhaenyra and Alicent if I didn't know better!

I liked it. I haven't minded the time jumps as I'm assuming they're temporary; the writing and performances are still on point. That said, I hope we can finally settle into a regular flow without having to anticipate what creative way one of the characters will inform us of how many years have passed since the previous episode.

I hate time jumps, and I don't really like the new Rhaenyra. Maybe she'll get better, but I can't believe she turned out so stupid that she'd have three babies with whatshisface. He's not even attractive! lol How come none of them have white hair? The queen isn't Targaryen and all her kids have white hair.

And omg, they love giving birth in this show. Let's have more women screaming and dying in childbirth. It's so fun!

It's just a time jump to the left and a Stepping Stones to your right. Put your hands on your birthing hips and pull your kids out your vagina tight. It's the public wanking that will drive you insane....let's do the time jump again!

GRRM seems to think some men have super strong sperm that always resutls in their offspring having the exact same hair colour (see Robert's bastards.)

Geez We couldn't get past the first episode.

Looks like I'll have to give it another whirl.
