How bout those Cowboys!

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory is expected to meet with NFL officials, potentially including commissioner Roger Goodell.

Gregory, who has missed 30 of the past 32 games because of suspension, filed the reinstatement application within the past two weeks.

Defensive end Randy Gregory was told Monday that he has been fully reinstated by the NFL.

The Cowboys will have to make a roster move because they are at the 90-player limit.

Owner and General manager Jerry Jones said he expects Randy Gregory to be able to contribute to the defensive line rotation when the Cowboys open the season against the Carolina Panthers on Sept.9.

The Cowboys placed guard/center Marcus Martin on injured reserve because of a toe injury.

Wide receiver Marchie Murdock (ankle) was also waived/injured.

The Cowboys signed offensive linemen Jacob Alsadek and Wide receiver Darrin Carrington to fill their roster spot.

Cowboys' Leon Lett defined by more than one play 25 years ago

Twenty-five years later, Lett cannot run away from one of the most infamous plays in Thanksgiving Day history. That’s one of the downsides of playing for the Dallas Cowboys. People never forget.

With 15 seconds to play, Pete Stoyanovich lined up for a winning 41-yard field goal attempt, but Jimmie Jones was able to block the kick. As the ball spun like a top on the frozen turf, Cowboys defenders ran away from it, knowing the game was over if they just didn't touch it. Except for Lett, who ran toward the ball, past a few Dolphins players, slipped and kicked the ball forward. Jeff Dellenbach recovered the loose ball and Stoyanovich made a 19-yard field goal with three seconds left to give the Dolphins a 16-14 victory.

Nobody expected the weather to turn the way it did on Nov. 25, 1993. A sheet of ice and snow covered Texas Stadium that day 25 years ago, making it difficult for the Cowboys or Miami Dolphins to do much of anything.

"You know, it was a bad play, happened at a bad time, but I think at the end of the day, at the end of the season I had the last laugh. We won the Super Bowl. I had a part in us winning that Super Bowl and one of the big plays in that game, so for me that was my redemption.”

For a 5-5 team, things are looking better than average for the Dallas Cowboys. Their division is a train wreck. The Giants are lilliputian, the Eagles are grounded, and Washington is without its starting quarterback. The Cowboys, somehow, are the ones who seem to have the best shot of making the playoffs
