Cornerback Byron Jones' status for Sunday's game is up in the air because of a sprained ankle suffered in Thursday's practice during one-on-one drills. He did not practice Friday and is officially listed as questionable. If Jones doesn't play, then the Cowboys would have Jourdan Lewis and Chidobe Awuzie as their starters with C.J. Goodwin and Deante Burton as the backups. Jones could have played his final game for the Cowboys with him set to be a free agent after the season.
Amari Cooper has not wavered on where he wants to play in 2020. “I want to be here,” said Cooper, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent. He said he “likes it here,” and playing with Dak Prescott. “That is part of me liking it, my situation on the team, him being the quarterback, the teammates, where I live, everything,” he said. Cooper's slow finish to the season (22 catches in six games) has him frustrated. “You always want to maximize your opportunities,” Cooper said.
For the first time, Sean Lee will play all 16 regular-season games, but he is not thinking about Sunday being his last. He will make a decision on whether to continue to play closer to March. “Being 10 years in, I think it's natural for all players to say, ‘OK where am I at physically? What's the right thing to do for me and my family?'” Lee said. “So I'll do that in the offseason for sure, but that's going to come whenever that comes. I'm happy that I was able to be consistently on the field.”
Dak Prescott went through some individual drills for the second straight day but did not throw a pass during the open portion of practice to the media. He has followed the same plan as last week but he has taken part in the walkthroughs this week.
