Strength and conditioning coordinator Markus Paul was rushed to a hospital Tuesday morning after experiencing a medical emergency, the team announced. Paul, 54, is in the process of undergoing further tests and additional information will be made available at the appropriate time, the family told the team. “The organization extends its prayers and support to the Paul family, and asks for friends and followers of Markus, his family and the team to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.”
The Cowboys have cancelled practice Tuesday because of “a non-COVID related medical emergency involving a staff member.” Players were supposed to have a shorter practice today in preparation for Thursday's game against Washington Football Team.
The Cowboys held a walkthrough-type practice Monday with the quick turnaround for Thursday's game against the Washington Football Team. Cornerback Anthony Brown (ribs) did not practice and could miss the game. Tight end Blake Bell (back) and kicker Greg Zuerlein (back) were limited. Running back Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring), tackle Brandon Knight (knee) and linebacker Joe Thomas (wrist) would have been full participants.
