Jerry Jones: Odds Cowboys sign Odell Beckham Jr. in '22 fading

Last week, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said to "stand by" on his team adding wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. On Tuesday, Jones tapped the brakes on the potential addition while speaking on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. If Beckham joined the Cowboys, the plan was to place him on injured reserve after he spent a day on the active roster as he returns from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered in last season's Super Bowl. He would have to miss four games on injured reserve, which if he were to sign this week, would mean he would miss at least the wild-card round of the playoffs. Last week, the Cowboys added veteran free agent receiver T.Y. Hilton in part because he was able to play immediately. Hilton was inactive against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has been impressed.

Odell Beckham Jr. Dallas Cowboys news reported in 'Troll Kingdom's' 'Agony of Defeat'.

Jerry Jones: Odell Beckham Jr. 'could look good' with Cowboys
In eight games against the Cowboys with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns, Beckham has 40 catches for 558 yards and seven touchdowns.

Sources: Odell Beckham Jr. hopes to sign by end of November
Odell Beckham Jr. would like to whittle down his current list of potential teams -- which includes the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers as soon as possible and have a decision by the end of this month, league sources told ESPN.

Giants, Cowboys or Bills: Where will Odell Beckham Jr. land?

The Odell Beckham Jr. derby is heating up, with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants believed to be at the front of the pack. But don't count out the Buffalo Bills. Beckham is scheduled to meet with the Bills on Friday, though the Giants and the Cowboys seem most likely to land the coveted free agent. The two division rivals are pitted against one another off the field after the Cowboys dominated the Giants in the second half on Thanksgiving. Beckham is believed to be close to full health after tearing the ACL in his left knee in the Super Bowl win with the Los Angeles Rams in February. It has been nine months since the injury, and he's expected to sign with a new team in the next few weeks.

Cowboys meet with Odell Beckham Jr. talking 'many options' says Jerry Jones
Beckham underwent a physical on Monday, met with Jones and his family and spent the night with Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs at the Dallas Mavericks' game against the Phoenix Suns.

Cowboys' Jerry Jones says to 'stand by' on Odell Beckham Jr. decision

Jerry Jones' interest in Odell Beckham Jr. is not waning, but the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager said a decision on adding the free agent wide receiver has to come "sooner rather than later." How soon? The Cowboys signed veteran T.Y. Hilton on Monday to a one-year deal that guarantees him $600,000 for the reminder of the season. Beckham visited with the Cowboys last week, and Jones has acknowledged Beckham is not ready to play yet as he continues to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered in last season's Super Bowl.

Eagles' Jalen Hurts out vs. Cowboys; Gardner Minshew to start

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss Saturday's game against the Dallas Cowboys with a right shoulder sprain, meaning Gardner Minshew will get the start in a game that could secure the NFC East title and the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC. Hurts missed Tuesday's walkthrough and Wednesday's practice. He injured his throwing shoulder in Sunday's win against the Chicago Bears when he was driven into the ground by defensive lineman Trevis Gipson following a 3-yard run in the third quarter. A win over Dallas on Saturday would secure the division as well as the top seed in the NFC for the Eagles, giving the coaching staff options on how much to play the starters -- including Hurts -- over the final two regular-season games.

Philadelphia (34) @ Dallas (40)

Dak Prescott threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns, Brett Maher kicked the go-ahead field goal. Dallas, the defending NFC East champ, kept alive faint hopes of catching them. Dallas won by the same score as an overtime loss at Jacksonville a week earlier. Despite that loss, the Cowboys (11-4) clinched a playoff spot a few hours later when the New York Giants beat Washington. Lamb had 100 yards receiving in a half for the first time in his three-year career, finishing with 103 before the break on the way to 10 catches for 120 yards.

Gardner Minshew threw two scoring passes and had a TD run filling in for the injured Jalen Hurts, but his second interception set up Maher's go-ahead kick. The NFL-leading Eagles (13-2) had two turnovers in the final five minutes and missed a chance to clinch the NFC's top seed in a matchup of playoff-bound division rivals. One Philadelphia victory or loss by Dallas (11-4) in the final two games would wrap up home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs for the Eagles. Smith had eight catches for 113 yards, and A.J. Brown added 103 yards on six grabs for Philly.

D-Ware, Woodson Named Hall of Fame Finalists

The Cowboys all-time leader in sacks and all-time leader in tackles took a step closer to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Both DeMarcus Ware and Darren Woodson were named among 15 modern-day finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ware was a finalist last year – his first season of HOF eligibility – but was not selected as a first-ballot Hall of Famer. As for Woodson, this is the first season he's advanced past the semifinal round of 25 candidates.

Ware, a first-round pick of the Cowboys in 2005, played nine seasons in Dallas, registering a franchise-record 117 sacks. He spent the final three years of his career in Denver, where he helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50.
Ware later re-signed with the Cowboys for a day to retire in Dallas.

Woodson spent his entire career with the Cowboys, setting the record for most tackles in franchise history in 2002. Woodson took a backseat to other high-profile players in his career as the Cowboys were winning Super Bowls in the 90s. Ironically enough, the day he set the team record for most tackles in 2002, Woodson's moment was overshadowed by Emmitt Smith, who became the NFL's all-time leading rusher that same day.

The fifth-round pick out of North Carolina became the first Washington rookie QB to throw and run for a TD in a game since Robert Griffin III in 2012. Howell also connected on a 52-yard completion with McLaurin, who set a career high for receiving yards in a season.

Dak Prescott completed just 14 of his 37 passes for 128 yards, threw another interception that was returned for a touchdown and the Dallas Cowboys laid an egg in their final regular-season game. Prescott was wildly inaccurate and the Dallas offense had just 169 total yards before he was replaced by Cooper Rush in garbage time. This was not exactly how the Cowboys (12-5) figured things would go with a chance, albeit small, to win the NFC East.
