Only watched a couple so far but I liked the take on the Whizzer (lol) and jesus CHRIST would somebody get Jessica some Prozac? Who mopes thru two whole seasons? It's like she can't go five minutes without reminding us she's an angry drunk.
It did have a very slow start and I was worried the pace would never pick up for the first few, but I’m glad they took their time and actually explored the characters instead of focusing on fight scenes. Fight scenes with indestructible people aren’t particularly tense anyway.
What sets Jessica Jones apart from the other Marvel shows for me is that all the main characters are interesting and get their own stories. They’re not just there to conveniently show up as the hero’s about to be overwhelmed, or to provide exposition. Like Wacky says, Jeri’s story had almost nothing to do with Jessica’s, but i thought that was quite a good thing. These characters live their own lives. They’re not just sidekicks.
Also, I’m glad they showed Jessica’s softer side and that she may be tough as nails, but only physically. The ending was really sad and shocking, though the bit with the happy family getting in a car crash was pretty dumb.
They should have all the characters from the cancelled shows (well, Daredevil and Punisher will do) turn up at the end and make some witty references to how Disney sucks. Is Disney the bad guy this season?
I've only watched ten minutes of the first episode of the new season but Jessica is such a good character and so well played by Krysten Ritter that I have to pre-emptively state that I'm going to miss the show, even if the season ends up falling victim to the usual Marvel Netflix problems (it might not, who knows!)
