I've invited many people here over the years and the response I get from most of them is that the upper boards are filled with retards and racists, I then tried to encourage them to post in the MF or Badlands (honestly, I promoted the Badlands) because these two forums are where the TK community hangs out. I promoted the atmosphere this place has, and the fact that we don't have to worry about meddling moderators. It hasn't worked, and I stopped trying (other than having a link to TK in my profile at FES).

Dual, I don't think the MF'ers are the ones who need to have a thicker skin. The suggestion that we're elitists and that we don't contribute to the rest of the board comes up all the time. Conchaga, I said that the only other forum I'm interested in is AP. I don't care that the last time I posted in the Media Center was January, it might be next January before I post there again. If you try to change the free nature of this website, you'll become like the internet srs bsns people we come here to escape. AP is what I think SF should be, and that is a place to discuss srs bsns freely. As far as the Media Center goes, I have nothing against the forum, I'm just not interested in posting there. We talk about the shows we obsess over in the MF and it is fun for us. Why do you want to kill our fun? SRSLY.

Where have you seen me demanding that MFers post in the other forums? I don't really care. What I was referring to with my 'thin-skinned' comment was the MF's adversity to even the mildest of trolling. Largely, the wagons get drawn in a circle, and one of the dozen or so MF admins will flush the trolling, Daycare the offender, et cetera, which frankly runs directly counter to the spirit of a troll board. That's the kind of thing that will piss off and drive away the few real trolls who post here, and also the kind of thing that will prevent new trolls from sticking around.

Cassie, when you invited your friends here, I'm sure that a ton of stupid people were still here. Yes, Starguard and Os@m@ are still around, but they're harmless and really quite funny. Shit, Starguard is even starting to participate in the board, as incredulous as that may sound. Anyway, those retards your friends saw are probably all gone now.

It's true that the board has changed from the outset. What I'm focusing on is a global, macro community, instead of this microcosm we have down here. The Mine Field has outlived its usefulness as a safe haven. I'm just trying to convince most of you of this fact.

My insistent concern is due to the fact that I like this place. Have for a long time. It saddens me to see that this board has the potential to be awesome and draw hundreds of people. As for cassie Re: Ouch! I had articles written when I first got hired. However, the guy who was supposed to code the thing for me went all meltdowny and left (this thread is a monument to that). That left me to learn how to write HTML on my own. Articles are easy. HTML is a course all in its own. Besides that, I have a life outside of the internet and dedicating my FREE (I don't get paid) time to learning how to code HTML falls to the wayside. Today's different, as I'm horribly sick and my attention span for complicated things is limited.
