Ron Roenicke won't be Boston Red Sox manager next season The 2020 season marked Roenicke's third with the Red Sox; he spent the first two as Cora's bench coach. In his only season as Red Sox manager, the team finished with a 24-36 (.390) record and a last-place finish in the American League East. This was Roenicke's second stint as a big league manager, spending 2011-2014 and part of the 2015 season leading the Milwaukee Brewers, with an overall managerial record of 366-367.
LoLos Angeles Angels fire general manager Billy Eppler in fifth year
The firing surprisingly comes with one year left on Eppler's deal; the Angels quietly extended Eppler through the 2021 season over the summer, a source confirmed to ESPN. Eppler, who finished his fifth season with the organization after joining in 2015, was on an expiring contract when the year began.
