The Rangers raced past the defending champion Houston Astros in their own building on Monday night, capturing an 11-4 Game 7 victory to punch their ticket into the World Series. And Garcia -- the man who triggered a benches-cleaning incident during a controversial hit by pitch in Game 5 then provided the devastating blow with a prodigious grand slam in Game 6 -- had his fingerprints all over it, solidifying MVP honors after a stirring ALCS performance.

D-backs top Phillies in Game 7, make 1st World Series since '01
In doing so, the 84-win Diamondbacks, who finished 16 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West division, will face the Texas Rangers in their first World Series since 2001. That year, just their fourth since joining in 1998 as an expansion franchise, the Diamondbacks ended the New York Yankees' dynasty with Luis Gonzalez's dramatic walk-off single off Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning of Game 7.
