Hailie Deegan leaving NASCAR to compete in Indy NXT Series
Deegan will drive the No. 38 entry for the full 14-race calendar of the series one step below IndyCar. She will be part of a five-driver team at HMD alongside Caio Collet, Josh Pierson, Tommy Smith, and Bryce Aron. Deegan has never before competed in open-wheel racing. The 23-year-old has spent the last four years in NASCAR competing in both the Truck Series.

Hailie Deegan said Monday she will move from NASCAR to IndyCar and compete in the Indy NXT Series next year with HMD Motorsports.
It came at the expense of Parker Kligerman, who not only was denied his first career Xfinity Series victory in regulation by a NASCAR scoring call, but also was eliminated from the playoff field. Kligerman was leading headed toward the white flag that would have signified the final lap of the race when Leland Honeyman ran into the tire barrier.

Logano first NASCAR driver to clinch spot championship berth
Logano was below the cutline and eliminated from the eight-driver field when he left Charlotte Motor Speedway last Sunday. But when Alex Bowman's car failed postrace inspection, Bowman was disqualified and Logano reinstated to the playoff field.

The only two-time Cup champion in the playoff field, Logano passed Daniel Suarez with five laps remaining Sunday for his fourth career victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
AJ Allmendinger advances to Xfinity Series championship finale
A caution with six laps remaining gave Sieg a late chance to snatch the win from Allmendinger, but he got a huge shove from Justin Allgaier on the restart and pulled away to beat Sieg by 0.156 seconds.

The veteran, who will make a full-time return to the Cup Series next year, was in need of either a victory or three good finishes to make the championship finale. Allmendinger raced for the Xfinity title in 2021.
Austin Hill wins, snags second spot in NASCAR Xfinity finale
Hill, who started the race fifth out of eight playoff drivers and below the cutline, swept the day and led for 79 laps. He beat Custer, who is still in title contention, by 3.045 seconds.

Hill drove the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet past Cole Custer with 12 laps to go, and held on to join AJ Allmendinger in the four-driver championship field at Phoenix. Allmendinger punched his ticket last week in Las Vegas.
Reddick wins Homestead, gives Jordan shot at NASCAR title
Reddick went high and overtook Ryan Blaney on the final turn to win at Homestead-Miami on Sunday to secure a spot in NASCAR's winner-take-all finale in Arizona in two weeks. Reddick led 98 of the 267 laps, the last of them the one that mattered most.

Custer nabs Xfinity title shot, makes enemies at Martinville
Chandler Smith and Custer had battled for position late in the race in a way that infuriated Smith and caused him to confront Custer after. The heated confrontation led to Smith throwing a punch at Custer.

It wasn't Custer's only dustup of the race: Custer tangled early with Allmendinger and it ended with Allmendinger crashing. The two were racing just 12 laps into the race and Custer was trying to get past Allmendinger. Custer gave him a shove that wiggled him out of line. Allmendinger then tried to force his way back to the bottom of the track. He ended up crashing.

Justin Allgaier rallies to win first NASCAR Xfinity title
Allgaier worked his way back through the field and passed Austin Hill and Cole Custer on an overtime restart with two laps remaining. Allgaier's No. 7 Chevrolet took four tires during his pit stop before overtime, including two new ones on his right side, before shooting past Hill and Custer on the restart.

Allgaier, 38, finished second in the race Riley Herbst, but it didn't matter because he beat the other three championship finalists: Custer finished eighth, AJ Allmendinger was ninth and Hill 10th.
Joey Logano holds off Ryan Blaney for third NASCAR title
He capitalized with his third NASCAR Cup Series championship, using a near-flawless drive to hold off teammate Ryan Blaney and give Team Penske its third major motorsports title in less than a month and third consecutive NASCAR title.
