Am I happy in the sense that I'm fufilled, feel all my needs are met, and am living up to my potential?

No.

I should be writing more, and trying harder to get published. I admit that.

But am I happy in the sense that I'm not in therapy, not completely miserable, and ready to take a high powered rifle to the top of a bell tower?

Yes.

If it's true that all humans NEED social interaction, then I'd say there's a scale involved, and I need significantly less than the average.

I do tho Loktar. I may love individual people, but as a group, as a species, I hate humanity.

For everything that we've done to both our planet, and each other, for our shallow pointless culture, for an ocean of blood in our history books, I can think of reason to be proud of being human.

For every step forward, we take ten steps back.

That's not an excuse.

That's how I honestly feel.

well I'd say there is all kinds of social interaction and if the amount of posting you do on messageboards is any indication I say you need way more than the average. Its off the scale! You even create duals to give the illusion that you "socially" interact more than you do.

There's a difference tho: this is ONLINE.

I don't have to see/smell/hear anyone.

This entire message board could be populated with bots FOR ALL I KNOW!

I was expecting you to defend humanity and its works to me, and you haven't so far.

Truth is there is really no point in debating if humanity has any redeeming qualities. Either you don't actually believe it, so why waste my time? OR You do actually believe it. Meaning we have such completely different views on what is 'valuable' that we would have no common ground from which to debate. So why waste my time?
