You seem lonely
Put words in the mouth of a bit player
I am only
a sword for an apprenticed dragon slayer
Oh no
I fell off a mountain
Oh no
My body's floating in a fountain
I know what I should
But Loktar's fallen
And I can't find the road
So I do as I must
In God we trust
I should pohst moar
Whatcha do with my smilie, Tamar?
I hear the roar
The lions sharpen their claws from a far
Oh yes!
Gore a beast at the Essex
Oh yes
All ye gluttons at the table
Awaiting Tisi with her axe
They knocked me off my saddle
But we do as we must
In God we trust
Out on the Dirty Boulevard
Count the footfalls of has been ghosts
Play kick the can in Conan's yard

I didn't know you felt that way
You never listen to a word I say
TV talking to itself
Too lazy to turn the channel
Still, a feeling lingers
Though I can't call it love
I shift it's shape with my fingers
Hide me from above
Little clay statues
Looking back at you
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't so damned cheap
Or I'd smash glass smoked on Chanel
Under the window where you keep
Your dainties under the stairwell
No no
They don't call this love
No no
It might be enough
To quell the tide until a better day
Oh oh I tie a pretty bow
And no one needs to know

I didn't know you felt that way
You never listen to a word I say
TV talking to itself
Too lazy to turn the channel
Still, a feeling lingers
Though I can't call it love
I shift it's shape with my fingers
Hide me from above
Little clay statues
Looking back at you
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't so damned cheap
Or I'd smash glass smoked on Chanel
Under the window where you keep
Your whiskey under the stairwell
No no
Can't really call this love
No no
But, it might be enough
To quell the tide until a better day
Oh oh I tie a pretty bow
To wrap the present for tomorrow
I know what you really did
Then you ask if I believe in God
Perma-banned from Faithdotcom
Because praying caused a schism
Oh no
Can't really call it faith
No no
More like the masses that sate
Themselves on the penny awful
Soap moping in the shadows
Passing themselves off for art
Pretty bottles arranged in rows

The more things change
The more they stay the same
Nothing but death
And a tax mixer
To sweeten your last breath
Somewhere, there's a pyramid
That's smashed your precious name.

Cast in irony
Were elephants in love
Paid in ivory
Front row extinction
So we can go down
With distinction
The more things change...

I remember seeing that crazy girl
The one from down the hall
Draggin' her brother in a Radio flyer
Before the truant lady called her a liar
The more things change...

The Pharohs ruled the Dirty Boulevard
a crocodile waved from a used up card
Rowed the river of asphalt into Sunset
And the Little Prince fell onto Charleton Heston
The more things change

Rewrite! rewrite! I finally found where I wanted to go with the above. What most people don't know about the Exodus, is that Egypt was at war with the Hittites. The Hebrews weren't the pyramid slaves, deMille would imply, but rather, muscle for hire, who were growing to strong for the Pharoh's liking( historically, i could be as much as a century off the mark)It is unclear, whether, Let My People Go, refers to escape, or to be included in the Battle Bash of the Millenium, Kadesh. Ramses was so certain of victory, he preminted coins, had new slave quarters built, and the soldiers brought their entire families in tow. instead, it turned into a major rout, with the Egyptians fleeing for their lives over the Kadesh River. Each side declared victory, though History called it a draw. This could be my own DaVinci Code, Jewish style. To prove Biblical text, you have to go at it, the way they find exo-planets ( you've been on facebook too long when you start to explain simple science as if your posting with your mom.) No one can see them, they're too distant. So we look for wobbles, odd concentrations of carbon, etc. We can't really see if any of this is historically correct, because the time frame is too distant. So you have to ask yourself, what would pharoh do to ensure no one learns he really got his ass kicked by a bunch of Hittite scruffs, just because they had the IRON sword?
