NEW SHOWS

So I watched two new shows last night. Neither of them seem worthy of a new thread because probably no one will watch them!

Intelligence - Josh Holloway's new show

Doesn't require a lot of intelligence to watch! He's like the bionic man and Gary from Alphas? SORT OF? He is a decorated veteran who has fought bravely in all our modern wars, Dr Phlox put a chip in his head, and now he can see the internet! Lots of action, gunfire, and fist fighting. Red Riding Hood from Once Upon a Time is hired to keep him safe, because she's a bad ass, but so far she's the one who has needed saving every time they ran into bad guys. GOOD JOB RED. A bullet grazed her arm and Josh had to help her walk whilst they were being shot at by a bunch of Chinese criminals! Anyway, I can't really recommend this show to anyone, unless you like this sort of thing. New case every week, solved just in the nick of time. The effects are pretty good, but it's a typical procedural with a high tech twist added.

Killer Women - Tricia Helfer's new show

TEXAS RANGERS! This looks like it will be a soap opera with cops. Tricia Helfer is a Texas Ranger, and I think all the killers are going to be women. Based on absolutely nothing, I thought the title referred to women who are killer, like that's killer man. Anyway, Tricia is a really good Texas ranger with instincts and gut feelings! She sees what other regular cops miss! Also her abusive husband won't give her a divorce (I think he's a senator) and she's having an affair with a cute DEA agent. This will be another procedural cop show with a new case every week solved just in the nick of time. I can't recommend this to anyone either, except to people who like this sort of thing.

Neither show was terrible, but they weren't great.

I forgot to mention Blanders is Tricia Helfer's brother on Killer Women. HE WAS BLAND AS EVER.

Another Ron Moore thingy. I wonder if he just gets to put his name on stuff like J.J. Abrams now.

Bitten: I like Laura Vandervoort so I watched this. She was good in it. But nothing else was. The characters were boring and I couldn't tell any of the men apart. There was no hook except "they're werewolves!" which does't really cut it any more. Won't watch again.

I was planning to watch the pilot, but it was on last night and I already had a full tv schedule. I don't know why they put everything on Mondays now. :rwmad:

Penny Dreadful on Showtime. Starts May 11th. Stars Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, and Josh Hartnett.

This teaser makes it look really scary. I don't know if I can handle serious horror. I like my horror a bit campy... BUT I'll probably watch it at least once.

I can't remember if someone already posted a trailer for this show in this thread. I've been seeing ads for it a lot during Supernatural. Hot aliens! Jerky jocks (who are also hot)! It looks pretty stupid, but I might watch it ONCE.

Fresh Off the Boat (Comedy)
EPs | Nahnatchka Kahn (Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23), Jake Kasdan, and Melvin Mar
CAST | Constance Wu
It’s the 90’s and hip hop loving Eddie is growing up in suburban Orlando, raised by an immigrant father who is obsessed with all things American and an immigrant mother who is often bewildered by white culture. With his father owning and operating an All-American Steakhouse chain, this loving family of FOB (“fresh off the boat”) Taiwanese Americans try to live the American dream while still maintaining their cultural identity and sense of family.
I Believe in Nahnatchka Kahn.
