Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott will not play tonight vs. Arizona with starting offensive linemen Tyron Smith (hamstring), Travis Frederick (GBA) and Zack Martin (knee) out.

Elliott will enter the season without a preseason carry.

Prescott played in 39 preseason snaps, completing 13 of 18 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

The Los Angeles Rams and defensive tackle Aaron Donald have agreed to a six-year deal.

The deal is worth $135 million, including $87 million guaranteed.

It's the richest defensive deal in NFL history and could keep Donald with the Rams for the next seven years.

The New York Jets contacted the Pittsburgh Steelers to inquire about disgruntled running back Le'Veon Bell.

The Jets have $17 million in cap space. Their 2019 figure is projected at $90 million, when they can make a run at Bell as a free agent.

The NFL's competition committee is scheduled to speak on a conference call next week about the proliferation of roughing the passer penalties.

"There's some concern that the official s are going a little too far with some of these calls".

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Big Ben questioned the roughing the passer calls.

There is no mystery surrounding the Baltimore Ravens' starting quarterback position this week. Lamar Jackson will make his second NFL start Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, coach John Harbaugh announced Friday. This comes after the Ravens declined to name their starting quarterback heading into last Sunday's game.

Joe Flacco, the Ravens' starter for the past 11 seasons, hasn't practiced since injuring his right hip in a 23-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jackson, the No. 32 overall pick in this year's draft, led the Ravens to a 24-21 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday, becoming the first quarterback to rush for more than 100 yards in his first NFL start. He ran the ball 27 times, which was the most by a quarterback in the Super Bowl era.

Bob McNair, Houston Texans owner, dies at 81

i

Texans owner Bob McNair died Friday in Houston, the team announced. He was 81."It is with deep sadness that we announce Houston Texans Founder, Senior Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and philanthropist, Robert C. McNair passed away peacefully in Houston today with his loving wife, Janice, and his family by his side," the team said in a statement.

The team did not disclose how McNair died. In August 2014, he revealed that he had been dealing with skin cancer for nearly 20 years. McNair has also fought squamous cell carcinoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia in the past. McNair was the driving force for bringing an NFL team back to Houston after the Oilers left in 1996. He also helped bring two Super Bowls to NRG Stadium: Super Bowl XXXVIII (2004) and Super Bowl LI (2017).

A Super Bowl champion as both a player and coach, Ditka is probably best known for his 11 seasons as coach of the Chicago Bears. His 1985 team, which is considered to have one of the best defenses ever, dominated the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX. Ditka led the Bears to the playoffs seven times and coached in the NFC Championship Game on three occasions. His 106 wins with Chicago trail only George Halas (318) for most in franchise history.

Ditka played tight end for the Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys over a 12-year career and coached the Bears and New Orleans Saints. He caught a touchdown pass during Dallas' Super Bowl VI victory and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1988.
