I dislike how brand loyalty (or in the cases of most in the Treksphere, brand addiction), helps these shows accrue viewing numbers. You’ve seen everything this creative team has pumped out so far, hated a lot / so-so on some / liked a smidgen of it, you dislike the concept, it looks, feels and smells like a turd, but you’ll still be a trooper and give it a “chance”; you’ll check out the first episode, or you’re one of those fucking completionists that hasn’t reconciled with the fact you lost that lovin’ feeling for pretty much anything produced under the Trek banner over 20 years ago and force yourself through mental gymnastics to make the viewing experience tolerable. Or Robert Picardo. Cause he was in Voyager, ‘member?
I was lurking on TrekBBS when one of the usual suspects had the nerve to attribute the negative, dismissive fan attitudes to just "a segment of fans." If by segment, you mean the overwhelming majority of online degenerates who bother to talk about Trek? Fuck.
And fuck the hate-watchers too – in particular, those watching via legal means. Don’t go complaining and moaning about the show when you’re actively contributing to its success with your time and subscription.
