Stargate Universe

"Time" was actually much better than I expected it to be from reading the show's description. No cheesy last minute "Rush saves the day" bullshit! I couldn't believe they ended the show the way they did, and thought it was kinda cool. Chloe is still a whiny little girl, but TJ is pretty awesome.

I really hate where they're going with Telford in the previews for the next episode. Is he in fucking high school? I don't even understand why he's on the show at all.

lol, the first ten minutes in kino-vision I was ready to agree with all the twatty nay-sayers and agree it was boring shit after all. It was going on so long I started to think the entire episode would be shot from that point of view. I really should've known better...

The story was very intriguing and well observed and as ever, I thought the characters were engaging and interesting too. And it made that crumby ice planet episode more interesting in retrospect as well. I was really impressed when they killed the one with the huge tits, but when Chloe died as well it became pretty obvious what their next move would be. Great way to end the episode, though. I presume next week there'll be a really quick "so it was good we got the venom from those creatures" reference before getting on with the show.

Last night's was pretty good, yeah. I guess the timeline C version of the crew will see the recording of the timeline B version so it's not like the whole episode is forgotten. Johansson is hotter than Chloe.

There's actually a webisode (episode 18, believe it or not) which shows the timeline C crew reviewing the videos from both kinos. But it's quite badly acted and completely pointless IMO.

"So we... LOL... we found two KINOS on this PLANET... *obnoxious chuckle* but it just showed this... *watches dramatic final scene of episode* BWUAHAHAHA, how funny is that shit dude?! And Chloe got wasted TWICE!! HAHA! So funny man... *wipes away tear* yeah, so anyway, the story was concluded exactly how you thought it was. lol."

That was so light in tone I thought they were going to finish by throwing custard pies in each others faces.

Just saw the episode today as my sky box messed up the recording when I tried to watch it with time delay, which is kind of appropriate for the episode if you think about it, so had to download it and watch it on the pc, which shouldn't count as piracy since I already paid sky to watch the damn thing and couldn't.

Must admit this was quite a dull episode, and this coming from someone who normally loves all the character development.

Didn't like the ending with Young and Telford, either. I think if the writers really want us to care about those characters' feud then they should show us how it started, because right now it does just seem like a rehashed soap opera storyline.

However, I'm still getting ever more annoyed by people who criticise the show, but are too stupid to understand what happened at the end of the last episode. IMDb and another site (SFM) both have people complaining that the show's too boring, and bitching that the characters were all about to die at the end of the last ep. "What the fuck are the writers doing?!"

DUH. YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT! IF YOU CAN'T JOIN THE FUCKING DOTS THEN NO WONDER YOU'RE GETTING BORED THAT THERE ISN'T AN EXPLOSION EVERY FEW SECONDS. DO EVERYONE A FAVOUR NEXT WEEK. SIT DOWN, GET COMFORTABLE AND MASTURBATE INSTEAD OF WATCHING THE SHOW. YOU'LL ENJOY IT MORE AND WE WON'T HAVE TO HEAR YOUR BACKWARDS FUCKING WITTERING ABOUT THERE NOT BEING A STRAIGHTFORWARD CONCLUSION.

They built up the fan hatred of Telford so we'd all be glad when Young kicked his ass. I am really tired of Telford's high school antics already. AND I'm tired of the writers using cheap tricks to try to get us to have an emotional response.

I AM PREDICTING THE CRAZY PILL POPPING GUY WILL SIT IN THE CHAIR. He will do it against orders or something, because he wants moar pillzlol nao.

I thought he'd probably do that in this episode, but his withdrawal symptoms combined with his general psychoish behaviour would make the ship go haywire, leading to a big cliffhanger ending. That might've actually saved the episode.

That would have been kinda cool!

I think the next episode is the mid-season finale AND I think it's in two weeks.. oh yeah because of Thanksgiving.

Probably won't be back til January after that. Doesn't seem like it's been on long enough to have a break, but that's how syfy channel rolls :rwmad:

I liked the episode, sure not much happened, but more happens in a slow episode of SGU than most of the series so far of flashforward and defying gravity

I missed out on Defying Gravity, somehow. I think I watch too many shows!

All the episodes are up on Hulu, if you're interested. The series really started to pick up in the latter half; it's too bad about the cancellation, the show was better than any number of Stargates, Flashforwards, etc. Oh well.

shhhhh about defying gravity, we about half way through the series in the Uk, dont spoil anything or ill set hummus Gf on you....

I was downloading Defying Gravity up until the Beeb started showing it, so now I'm waiting for them to catch up to where I left off. I prefer SGU, but I think both series suffer not from slow storytelling, but impatient viewers who seem to expect every episode to be shooting and explosions the whole way through.
