The Dark Knight

I love Bale, he should stick to his American Psycho personae.

Empire of the Sun, baby. OG Spielberg.

Especially the liplicking.

I'm glad someone else saw that, too. However, if you'll notice, Nicholson did that as well.

Dent was good, but they squandered the whole two-face concept IMO.

YES! An entire villain GONE! WTMF!? That sub-plot was TOTALLY unecessary. It should've been cut just after Joker talks to Dent in the hospital. The movie would've been at least 20 min shorter and more tollerable because of it.

I particularly enjoyed Michael Caine's Alfred and Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent.

Dent was a favorite for me too. I agree with Jack and Conch that they shouldn't have killed him, but my guess is that they did that and the "cover up" to set him up as a fugitive (similar to Miller's DKR) for the next movie.

Bale was pathetic as the Batman. Ruined the movie and the pacing for me, especially with his stupid lisp and hoarse voice when in costume.

That bothered me a bit too, that and Luscious Fox pretty much being in on the whole secret, but i tried to look past such things.

LoL...but Morgan Freeman is Luscious!

I too enjoyed Aaron Eckhart's turn as Harvey Dent, and am a bit miffed that they didn't leave it open for him to be in the next one. If there is one.

And yes, Bale's Batman voice did get a little annoying at times, even though I can understand why they had to do it.

I think Brendan Fraser would make a better Batman and a better Bruce Wayne. Not to say that I didn't enjoy Christian Bale's performance. I like him a lot. But Michael Keaton had more character. I hope that if they need to reboot again that they pick Brendan Frasier.

^^Brendan frasier ZOMGLOL r u on drugs?

Btw Bale had a great mouth for Batman ;)

What in the world were they thinking covering up the Two-Face murders at the end of the movie? That is exactly the sort of corruption that golden-boy Harvey Dent was fighting against, and is a spit in the face of his memory. He would have wanted them to be honest, because lies with "good intentions" are what creates things like corrupt cops.

U do understand the concept of Harvey Dent/2face, ya?

Mmmkay....but still....batman cant be pure and moral all the time, esp as it is 'teh dark nite' with all the associated highlights and themes :)

Also on the voice of batman thing, I too lol'd at first....but hey....its a comic superhero flik, not a RL documentry about him.

Overall, I enjoyed it with Joker being a funny arse MOFO ;)

How about a magic trick?

If Batman is so "dark" and "not necessarily a good person," then what is he attempting to accomplish? Is he "bad" because he doesn't kill the criminals, thereby allowing them to wreck further havoc on the city? The more I think about this movie, the less I like it. It fooled me into thinking it was a good movie at first, but now I would not recommend it.

Actually, Gondar is kind of correct.

If there's one thing that was irritating in the movie, it was the forced "dark" attitude to it. It came at the expense of common sense. Now don't get me wrong, it was one hell of a movie, and one of the best popcorn fodders ever made, but not much more than that.

Everyone in The Dark Knight is "dark", "tortured", "edgy", and "extreme" and has gone "bad" to a point that bordered self-parody at times. It was more of a Batman : Teh Emo Knight. The script wasn't as half smart and interesting as people make it seem, but it's just engineered to look smarter than it actually is.

However, the above does not affect the fun factor of the movie (and what's a summer blockbuster worth if it's not fun to watch ?).
