I do, however want to comment on Elwood's post, linked to upthread.

There's some spinning going on there. He makes it sound like there was an incident, Hood got spanked, and then some time later he went ahead and did it again. But I think both "incidents" happened nearly simultaneously and they are breaking it up to make Hood sound that much worse.

At any rate it stinks. So we'll see how long people stick around here. :S:

I don't know what happened to EB... I don't remember him always being so vindictive... or obtuse.

That sounds about right to me as well, but I really don't remember enough to be sure. Hopefully Hood can come along and give us the 411.

Although you gotta give the guy credit for having a point. Can you imagine what would've happened to Coca Cola when the customers rebelled against New Coke? Shit, if they'd have backed down, then their customers would've owned them. It's a good thing Coca Cola Corporation dug in their heels in spite of popular demand and forced people to drink New Coke. :cylon:

Yeah, that's when I gave up. He straight up admitted he had the facts wrong, but couldn't change b/c it would make him look week in front of the proles.
 
You know, I never believed there was actually an us-vs-them mentality. Tonight sure proved me wrong. I'm not about to start posting PM's and chat logs, but let's just say the trolls were right all along on that count.
 
Concepts like "Do the right thing regardless of whether the trolls want it or not" were simply not sinking in, being rejected completely in favor of "if you give a mouse a cookie, he'll want you to free polarslam".
 
But, at least I did manage to get my point across and got rid of that moronic new "if someone reposts a PM, we'll ban them and post the PM for all to see" rule in practice, even if it'll still be on the books.

They are so stupid.

They consider everyone who doesn't agree with them to be trolls. It's why I soured on TPTB a long time ago. I learned this from previous shitstorms. If you don't tow the company line you're a troll. Even when you're dead right.
 
Let's be fair. There most certainly are actual trolls. But what TPTB don't get is that they're going to bitch no matter what. Sometimes they'll be right, sometimes they'll be wrong.

But you know what... Sorry guys, but I need to keep the board running. This is the last drama I'm doing any digging on. So if you see me toeing the company line from now on, let me pre-assure you it's out of ignorance and apathy, not belief that they're actually right.
