The X-Files to return

Can't wait. I hope it's good and I kinda hope they either don't go too heavy on the season long story arc (I always preferred the standalone episodes), or they if they do, they make it more interesting than a government conspiracy.

The alien invasion was supposed to happen in 2012 if I remember the highly convoluted mythology rightly. So maybe it'll take place in a world ruled by aliens WHO KNOWS.

I hope its flashbacks, because people really shouldnt shrug off an exocet to the face.

The X-Files limited series is also on track, and the network heads presented the first footage from the series, a clip in which Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) reconnect following an estrangement.

Put bluntly, the clip was weird, and not weird in the way footage from The X-Files should be. Many of the critics in the room were surprised by the tone of the clip, which somehow came across as comedic and spoof-like thanks to stilted performances by Duchovny and Anderson and dialogue that sounded like it was cribbed from fan fiction. The clip also confirmed that Mulder and Scully are no longer romantically linked, though this news was greeted much more favorably than news of Kermit and Miss Piggy’s separation.

I wonder if they'll even remember that Mulder and Scully have a son.

Oh good, it will premiere the same time as Downton Abbey in the US so the whole debate of copied theme songs can come up again.

People seem to be really excited about this but CALL ME A NEGATIVE CUNT IF YOU WANT I can't really feel the same? The last three seasons and the second movie sucked. They're actually using "Cancer Man is STILL ALIVE!" as the hook at the end of the trailer when his character should have stayed dead the first or second time he was killed. And I'd much rather see Gillian Anderson in another season of Hannibal.

I'm not excited like some people, but MAYBE it will be good. They could definitely do it right, but I don't have my hopes up.
