The X-Files to return

BAH! The reason I thought there was only one more episode is because the commercials keep saying THERE'S ONLY ONE MORE EPISODE (before the finale) :rwmad:

I loved the Scully and her mother scenes. I have no idea what mystery there is with her mother because I remember next to nothing about the original series. I guess she'll find out what the quarter means.

Yeah, I don't remember all the ins and outs of the original show, so a lot is lost on me. I'd forgotten they even had a kid together (I remembered her being pregnant but thought it was an alien baby or something). Netflix took the show off some time ago so it's difficult to catch up with without downloading it all.

The baby was something that happened in the last two seasons, so even people who watched all the way through don't remember it.

Robbie Amell is super fricking cute.

Another fun episode! Mulder tripping on shrooms (or a placebo) was hilarious.

I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THE LINE DANCING!

I thought episode two was much better than the first one. Not just because it actually had a coherent story, but also because the Mulder/Scully interaction felt a lot more natural and there was some humour. It felt like a proper episode whereas the first one felt like a parody.

The first episode was awful. I was disappointed. The acting was proper shit. Both Anderson and Duchovny looked utterly bored and disinterested and phoning it in. Script was a hot mess as well. Joel McHale was actually the best thing about the episode. I love McHale but this is X-Files, he's not meant to be the best thing in this.

I'm happy to hear that it gets better... I'll continue watching. I stopped because I thought the first ep was that bad but it's X-Files so I'll give it another chance.

Episode three was GREAT. Classic Darin Morgan. If only he was writing the whole season. Mulder's crazy ranting works a lot better when it's supposed to be funny. The monster actually being a monster who was bitten by a man in such a funny twist that I'm amazed it hasn't been done before. And Scully being immortal is canon!

We still don't know wtf the quarter means :rwmad: Maybe they will do another season!

I didn't think it was terrible! It was just as weird as the rest of the episodes, but it doesn't seem like it was finished. The title on the screen was "This is the End" (or something fuck), but it's obviously not the end. I think it was a bit like the first episode, lots of stuff happening. There were lots of flashbacks to the original series so we'd remember things.

I enjoyed the last ep. Cool concept (though it has been done better, quite recently) and it ticked quite a few fan service boxes. Just annoying to have to wait a year for more.

I watched the first two or three episodes before I totally lost interest. Sorry, fans, the only semi-interesting thing was the waxy-faced alien in the pilot, and halfway through I realized that was Scully. They should call her Skully with a "K" now, the way her skin is all stretched out. And Mulder looked High as fuck the whole episode. Does he think he's still in Californication?

About the time I was watching my old social studies teacher running around in his tighty-whiteys eating flies and shit, I realized this show is what X-Files would look like if its stars got old and desperate for money and sold out to make a quick nostalgia buck.

I liked 4 of the episodes, adored one of them (the one with Rhys Darby, naturally) and disliked the finale for it's derivative nature.

The fourth episode was...okay. The Trashman was quite scary, but the story seemed really unfinished? All Mulder and Scully did was find out his background. He still killed everyone he wanted to kill. If Mulder and Scully hadn't been in the episode it would have made no difference to that story. Gillian Anderon's acting was good in the scenes with her dying mum, but it was a bit weird how they kept mentionig her two brothers but we never saw either. It was like they didn't have the budget to cast them.

I think the brothers were supposed to represent how you cant chose your family, but you can choose your friends.

Neither one made it to be there when she died, but Mulder did.

It was the man who didnt see anything, and neither did you, from star trek IV, he basically never stopped driving it.

Heres a question though, has there ever been anything shown quite as violent on non cable tv, as that guys head being ripped off with his spine dangling beneath it?

I mean that is predator 18 certificate level violence.

How they can allow stuff like that, but still not let Mulder say shit is beyond me.

Yeah that was surprisingly graphic. Hannibal had some pretty extreme stuff too. I remember Bryan Fuller talking about how they couldn't show a naked butt once so they had to cover it with more blood.
